Background: Endovascular treatment of popliteal aneurysms (PA) has increased in the last few years, quickly becoming the main treatment performed in many vascular centers, based on the acceptable and promising outcomes reported in the literature. However, endograft infections after endovascular popliteal aneurysm repair (EPAR) are the most dangerous complications to occur as they involve serious local compromise and usually require open surgical conversion and device explantation to preserve the affected extremity.
Case Report: We report two patients who were admitted to the emergency room of our hospital for pain and edema in the lower leg.
Background: The aim of our study was to determine a correlation between decrease of levels of atmospheric pollution (as determined by air levels of Particulate Matters with a diameter equal or less to 2.5 microns) and reduced number of hospital admissions and operations for patients with common cardiovascular diseases in Italy.
Methods: We correlated number of hospital admissions and cardiovascular operations and atmospheric levels of PM.

This case study presents an innovative endovascular approach using percutaneous gluteal artery access for embolizing the false lumen of a type B aortic dissection in a patient with Marfan syndrome. Following multiple complex surgeries, the patient developed an enlarging thoraco-abdominal aneurysm, necessitating an urgent intervention branched endoprosthesis despite persisting false lumen perfusion. Doppler ultrasound-guided percutaneous gluteal access was utilized for spiral-coil embolization of the false lumen.

Introduction: Popliteal artery entrapment syndrome (PAES) is a rare disease of the lower limbs, mainly affecting young patients, due to extrinsic compression of the neurovascular bundle at the popliteal fossa. The aim of this study was to describe our experience during a median 15-year period.
Methods: Patients treated for PAES in our institution from 1979 to 2024 were included.
Background: Accessory renal arteries (ARAs) frequently coexist with abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) and can influence treatment. This study aimed to retrospectively analyze the ARA's exclusion effect on patients undergoing standard endovascular aneurysm repair for AAA.
Methods: The study focused on medium- and long-term outcomes, including type II endoleak, aneurysmal sac changes, mortality, reoperation rates, renal function, and infarction post-operatively.
Background: In Europe Cardio Vascular Disease (CVD) mortality rates decreased significantly in the last 25 years, with less decline in the last 5 years. The aim of our study was to analyze trends of risk factors which may explain plateauing of CVD mortality rates in the period 2015-2019 in Europe.
Methods: We analyzed data from the Global Burden Disease and EUROSTAT concerning trends of CVD mortality rates for 25 European countries and simultaneous changes of exposure to risk factors of the population RESULTS: CVD related mortality decreased significantly in the analyzed countries in the period 2000-2015; in the period 2015-2019 there was a trend towards plateauing of CVD related mortality rates, which was associated with an increased exposure to several established risk factors including cigarette smoking, obesity and arterial hypertension.
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the global healthcare landscape has undergone significant transformations, particularly impacting the management of complex medical conditions such as aortic aneurysms. This study focuses on a 76-year-old female patient with a history of extensive cardiovascular surgeries, including aortic valve replacement, Bentall operation, and Frozen Elephant Trunk procedure, who presented with a type II thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm post-COVID-19 recovery. A comprehensive frailty assessment using the Modified Frailty Index and a two-phase endovascular approach for aneurysm treatment, considering the patient's frailty and complex medical history was performed.

Background: Endovascular repair of inflammatory abdominal aortic aneurysms (IAAAs) has emerged as an alternative to open surgery, but direct comparisons are limited. The aim of the study was to compare clinical outcomes of endovascular and open repair for IAAA according with specific clinical characteristics.
Methods: We performed a literature review of reports describing patients who had open or endovascular repair for IAAA.
Atherosclerotic plaque in the carotid artery is the main cause of ischemic stroke, with a high incidence rate among people over 65 years. A timely and precise diagnosis can help to prevent the ischemic event and decide patient management, such as follow up, medical, or surgical treatment. Presently, diagnostic imaging techniques available include color-Doppler ultrasound, as a first evaluation technique, computed tomography angiography, which, however, uses ionizing radiation, magnetic resonance angiography, still not in widespread use, and cerebral angiography, which is an invasively procedure reserved for therapeutically purposes.
