Solitary fibrous tumor within the mesorectum: literature review based on a case report of resection by transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS).

Purpose: Solitary fibrous tumors (SFT) are a rare entity of in majority benign neoplasms. Nevertheless, up to 20% of cases show a malignant tendency with local infiltration or metastasis. Commonly arising in the thoracic cavity, only few cases of SFT of the mesorectal tissue have been reported in the literature.

Intra-abdominal foreign body as unexpected discovery mimicking suspicious malignancy.

Although rare, postoperatively retained foreign bodies in the abdominal cavity still represent a serious issue for the surgical team as for the patients. Its clinical manifestation is often unspecific and the cases are therefore only irregularly registered. There are several known factors that increase the risk of retention of a foreign body, for example emergency surgeries, unplanned changes in procedure or a high body mass index.

A rare case of ileocolic intussusception due to severe endometriosis.

Intestinal intussusception is a rare cause of intestinal obstruction; intestinal intussusception associated with endometriosis is very rare. The varied clinical presentations make the diagnosis demanding. In this article, we report the case of a young female patient with an intestinal obstruction due to intussusception.
