Non-equilibrium plasmas at atmospheric pressure are often characterized by optical emission spectroscopy. Despite the simplicity of recording optical emission spectra in plasmas, the determination of spatially resolved plasma properties (e.g.

Discharge in liquid is a promising technique to produce nanomaterials by electrode erosion. Although its feasibility was demonstrated in many conditions, the production of nanoalloys by in-liquid discharges remains a challenge. Here, we show that spark discharge in liquid cyclohexane that is in contact with conductive solution, made of a combination of Ni-nitrate and/or Fe-nitrate and/or Co-nitrate, is suitable to produce nanoalloys (<10 nm) of Ni-Fe, Ni-Co, Co-Fe, and Ni-Co-Fe.

However, the synthesis of stable superhydrophobic surfaces through economical and practical processes remains a challenge. In the present work, we report on the development of an organosilicon-based superhydrophobic coating using an atmospheric-pressure plasma jet with an emphasis on precursor fragmentation dynamics as a function of power and precursor flow rate.
