With the variety of fibers and fabrics, the studies of the surface structure of the textile yarns, the weave fabric, and their surface wettability are still potential factors to improve and optimize the fog harvesting efficiency. In this work, inspired by the fog harvesting behavior of the desert beetle dorsal surface, a wavy-bumpy structure of post-weave yarn (obtained from woven fabric) was reported to improve large droplet growth (converge) efficiency. In which, this study used tetrabutyl titanate (Ti(OCH)) to waterproof, increase hydrophobicity, and stabilize the surface of yarns and fabric (inspired by the feather structure and lotus leaf surface).

The presence of humins during the conversion of concentrated fructose presents a major obstacle in the large-scale production of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) from fructose. Herein, we reported a boron-doped graphitic carbon nitride sulfonated (BGCN-SOH) as an excellent catalyst for the synthesis of HMF from fructose. The BGCN-SOH catalyst structures were analyzed using various characterization techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), elemental mapping analysis, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR).

Controlling the surface diffusion of particles on 2D devices creates opportunities for advancing microscopic processes such as nanoassembly, thin-film growth, and catalysis. Here, we demonstrate the ability to control the diffusion of FTCNQ molecules at the surface of clean graphene field-effect transistors (FETs) via electrostatic gating. Tuning the back-gate voltage () of a graphene FET switches molecular adsorbates between negative and neutral charge states, leading to dramatic changes in their diffusion properties.

Novel types of vertical filament mesh (VFM) fog harvesters, 3D VFM fog harvesters, and multilayer 3D VFM fog harvesters were developed by mimicking the water-harvesting nature of desert beetles and the spider silks from fog. In this prospective randomized study, we compared humeral block (HB) and infraclavicular brachial plexus block (ICB) with pain caused by the block as a primary outcome, assuming that ICB would cause less pain than HB.
