Article Synopsis
  • Soybean is a crucial export for countries like the US and Brazil, with a focus on genetically modified INTACTA RR2 PRO™ which resists glyphosate and produces toxic substances against caterpillars.
  • This study evaluated how specific microorganisms affect this soybean variety, measuring growth parameters like root and shoot dry matter, nutrient levels, and microbial diversity in roots and soil.
  • The findings showed that certain microorganism treatments significantly boosted plant height and biomass, slightly influenced the microbiomes, and enhanced beneficial microbial groups, while also reducing fungal diversity.

Rhizosheric bacteria with several abilities related to plant growth and health have been denominated Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR). PGPR promote plant growth through several modes of action, be it directly or indirectly. The benefits provided by these bacteria can include increased nutrient availability, phytohormone production, shoot and root development, protection against several phytopathogens, and reduced diseases.
