Background: Antioxidant activity has been found in fermented fish sauce. In this experiment, the properties of endogenous protease and antioxidant activity were studied in anchovy sauce during fermentation. The correlation between protease activity and antioxidant activity in fermented anchovy sauce was analyzed using the partial least squares (PLS) method.

Methods: From January 2007 to February 2019, the medical records and imaging of all patients with mid or advanced spinal echinococcosis, who were treated by multiple debridement of cavity lesions, were evaluated retrospectively. The Braithwaite and Less classification system of spinal echinococcosis and the Frankel classification system were used to evaluate the results, both preoperatively and postoperatively.
Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are widespread environmental chemicals that are often considered as risk factors with weak activity on the hormone-dependent process of pregnancy. However, the adverse effects of EDCs in the body of pregnant women were underestimated. The interaction between dynamic concentration of EDCs and endogenous hormones (EHs) on gestational age and delivery time remains unclear.

Technologies for delivering these nutrients and for monitoring their concentrations can help to ensure proper nutritional balance. Eccrine sweat is a potentially attractive class of biofluid for monitoring purposes due to the ability to capture sweat easily and noninvasively from nearly any region of the body using skin-integrated microfluidic technologies.

The average annual percent change (AAPC) was conducted by joinpoint regression analysis, and the age, period and cohort effects were estimated by age-period-cohort (APC) analysis. The age-standardized incidence rates (ASIRs) in LA were higher than Shanghai and Hong Kong.

This study explored the correlations between serum sdLDL-C and Lp(a) levels and coronary arteriostenosis in TA patients as well as the degree of artery stenosis.
Methods: This retrospective study included 190 TA patients and 154 healthy subjects.
Microfluidic technologies have wide-ranging applications in chemical analysis systems, drug delivery platforms, and artificial vascular networks. This latter area is particularly relevant to 3D cell cultures, engineered tissues, and artificial organs, where volumetric capabilities in fluid distribution are essential. Existing schemes for fabricating 3D microfluidic structures are constrained in realizing desired layout designs, producing physiologically relevant microvascular structures, and/or integrating active electronic/optoelectronic/microelectromechanical components for sensing and actuation.

This study aimed to investigate the changing spatial and temporal trends of incidence, prevalence, mortality, disability-adjusted life year (DALY), and mortality-to-incidence ratio (MIR) of prostate cancer, and their association with the Socio-Demographic Index (SDI) in 48 Asian countries from 1990 to 2019.
Methods: Data were extracted from the Global Health Data Exchange query tool, covering 48 Asian countries from 1990 to 2019.
Purpose: The study explored the association of waist circumference (WC) with the severity of cardiovascular diseases and hospital readmission of coronary artery disease (CAD) patients with normal body mass index (BMI).
Patients And Methods: 213 female and 431 male normal-BMI CAD patients were enrolled and assigned in three groups based on their gender-specific WC tertiles. Their cardiovascular risk factors and coronary angiography characteristics were analyzed in a cross-sectional study, and the gender-specific relationship between WC and one-year re-admission rate was prospectively explored.
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is an age-related neurodegenerative disease, which characterized by deposition of amyloid-β (Aβ) plaques, neurofibrillary tangles, neuronal loss, and accompanied by neuroinflammation. Neuroinflammatory processes are well acknowledged to contribute to the progression of AD pathology. Histamine H3 receptor (H3R) is a presynaptic autoreceptor regulating histamine release via negative feedback way.

However, purification and recycling of the enzyme have largely limited the advancement of CHOS bioproduction. Here, we engineered a novel enzyme by fusing the native chitosanase Csn75 with a carbohydrate-binding module (CBM) that can specifically bind to curdlan.

Although leptin is involved in various pathological conditions, its role in paracrine action of pericardial adipose tissue on myocardial apoptosis remains unknown. This study was designed to investigate the role of PAT-derived leptin on myocardial apoptosis in high-fat diet-induced obese rats.

Methods: The clinical data of 15 pediatric patients admitted to our hospital from January 2010 to December 2017 who underwent staged posterior-anterior combined surgery for cervicothoracic segmental TB with kyphosis were collected. A posterior median incision was made for patients after general anesthesia.
Overexpression of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family member ErbB2 (HER2) drives oncogenesis in up to 25% of invasive breast cancers. ErbB2 expression at the cell surface is required for oncogenesis but mechanisms that ensure the optimal cell surface display of overexpressed ErbB2 following its biosynthesis in the endoplasmic reticulum are poorly understood. ErbB2 is dependent on continuous association with HSP90 molecular chaperone for its stability and function as an oncogenic driver.

Inflammation-induced anorexia causes dramatic metabolic changes, of which components critical to survival are unique depending on the type of inflammation. Glucose supplementation during the anorectic period induced by bacterial inflammation suppresses adaptive fasting metabolic pathways, including fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21), and decreases survival.

However, the clinical utility and user experience are limited by the wired connection between the sensor and bedside console. This wire leads to instability of the flap-sensor interface and may cause false alarms.

Recently, an emerging class of materials, twisted van der Waals materials, have been explored for applications in electronics and photonics. Here we propose and develop magic-angle lasers, where the localization is realized in periodic twisted photonic graphene superlattices.

Such inflammatory responses coordinate host defense and pathogen elimination but induce significant tissue damage if sustained, so macrophages are initially activated to induce inflammatory responses but then shift to a tolerant state to suppress inflammatory responses. Macrophage tolerance is regulated by induction of negative regulators of TLR signaling, but its metabolic basis was not known.

Three-dimensional (3D) micro-and nanostructures have played an important role in topological photonics, microfluidics, acoustic, and mechanical engineering. Incorporating biomimetic geometries into the design of metastructures has created low-density metamaterials with extraordinary physical and photonic properties. However, the use of surface-based biomimetic geometries restricts the freedom to tune the relative density, mechanical strength, and topological phase.

The critical interfaces between such technologies and living tissues must provide soft mechanical coupling and efficient optical/electrical/chemical exchange. Here, we introduce a functional adhesive bioelectronic-tissue interface material, in the forms of mechanically compliant, electrically conductive, and optically transparent encapsulating coatings, interfacial layers or supporting matrices.

However, the recognition of radial index is critical and tough when the superposed high-order LG modes are disturbed by the atmospheric turbulences (ATs). In this paper, the convolutional neural network (CNN) is utilized to recognize both the azimuthal and radial index of superposed LG modes.
