Evaluation of a Scripture Integration Course for Christian Health Professions Faculty.

The integration of Scripture in learning is an important focal element for education at Christian universities. A team of health professions faculty members from four universities belonging to the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities designed, developed, and facilitated a 9-week Scriptural Integration course for health professions faculty teaching at Christian universities. Participants completed the fully online asynchronous course, then completed a post-course survey.

Introduction: Human trafficking is a heinous crime and violation of human rights affecting between 25 and 27 million adults and children globally each year. Current immigration and refugee policy could exacerbate the human trafficking public health crisis. Health care providers working in emergency department and urgent care settings interact with human trafficking victims and provide life-changing care.

Use of theory to guide integration of virtual reality technology in nursing education: A scoping study.

Background: There is growing interest among academic nurse educators in using virtual reality (VR) environments as a pedagogical tool to enhance student learning.

Purpose: The aim of this scoping study was to identify the theories or conceptual models that informed the application of virtual reality technology in nursing education programs.

Methods: A scoping study using the Arksey and O'Malley (2005) framework was conducted.

Trauma-Informed Education in Nursing: A Concept Analysis.

Background: Trauma-informed education provides a framework for a collaborative, relational trauma awareness model when working with nursing students. This concept analysis provides clarification, explicates the conceptual meaning of trauma-informed education, and lays a foundation for nurse educators navigating the challenge of meeting student needs during and after the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Method: Using Walker and Avant's concept analysis method, exhaustive multi-disciplinary and ancestry searches conducted in PubMed, CINAHL, ERIC, and PsychINFO identified 31 relevant article that were evaluated for relevance to the concept analysis as it relates to the context of nursing education.

This article offers a comprehensive narrative literature review on telemedicine use in gynecologic healthcare analyzing current telemedicine integration in the field and outlining innovative and best practices. Sleep disruption in older informal caregivers.

Informal caregiving is a prevalent phenomenon in the United States. A review of the literature reveals that, although much research has been done regarding the areas of informal caregiver burden and the effect of sleep disruption on healthy adults, little has been done in the area of caregiving and sleep disruption, especially as it relates to older informal caregivers. Older informal caregivers represent a significant portion of the informal caregiving population and are a population at risk for high levels of sleep disturbance.

Nonlinear indices of circadian changes in individuals with dementia and aggression.

Nonlinear analyses of actigraphy data were utilized to investigate circadian rest-activity system motor control in nursing-home residents with dementia and with/without aggressive behavior (AB). Significant differences observed between groups in measures of approximate entropy (ApEn) and fractal dimension (FD). ApEn and FD are sensitive to detecting and characterizing discrete changes in central motoric control and temporality of behaviors in dementia.
