The miR172a-SNB module orchestrates induced and adult resistance to multiple diseases via MYB30-mediated lignin accumulation in rice.

Plants mount induced resistance and adult plant resistance against different pathogens during the whole growth period. Rice production faces threats from multiple major diseases, including rice blast, sheath blight, and bacterial leaf blight. Here we report that a microRNA module, miR172a-SNB-MYB30, regulates induced resistance and adult plant resistance to these three major diseases via lignification in rice.

Catalytic, Asymmetric Total Synthesis of (+)-α-, (+)-β-, (+)-γ-, and (-)-δ-Lycorane.

The first collectively asymmetric total synthesis of all members of lycorane, including (+)-α, (+)-β, (+)-γ, and (-)-δ, in a catalytic manner has been achieved. The cornerstone of this synthesis features an asymmetric, stereodivergent Ir/amine dual catalytic α-allylation of 2-phthalimidoacetaldehyde.

Enrichment and purification of red pigments from defective mulberry fruits using biotransformation in a liquid-liquid-solid three-phase system.

A large number of defective mulberries are discarded each year because mulberries are easy to break. The red pigments from defective mulberries are recognized as the sustainable sources of anthocyanins extracted from nature. Cyanidin-3-O-rutinoside and cyanidin-3-O-glucoside are the main components of mulberry red pigments, accounting for 50% and 40% of the total, respectively.
