Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is associated with an increased risk of diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM). Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) and Wnt/β-catenin/GSK3β have been demonstrated to play pathogenic roles in diabetes.
