(Fabaceae, Hedysareae) is described and illustrated from the Qilianshan Mountains in Gansu, China. This new species is similar to , but can be distinguished by its corolla being light purple to purple, standard 15-19 mm long, wings 14-16 mm long, keels 16-19 mm long, and the ovary and legume being glabrous. The new species can be easily distinguished from Ledeb.

Article Synopsis
  • Y. W. Tsui & D. Q. Lu is a unique herb species found only in the Qinling Mountains of China, and researchers analyzed its complete plastid genome using advanced Illumina sequencing technology.
  • The plastid genome is 152,457 base pairs long and contains various regions and a total of 130 genes, including 85 that code for proteins, which indicates its complexity and genetic diversity.
  • The study's findings highlight significant evolutionary differences in gene regions and establish genetic relationships with other species in the Caryophyllaceae family, enhancing our understanding of plant evolution and species variation.

Article Synopsis
  • The complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) studied is 16,207 base pairs long, featuring a common gene layout and genetic makeup similar to related species.
  • The base composition shows a notable anti-G bias (10.6%) and a high AT content (71.6%).
  • Phylogenetic analysis indicates a closer evolutionary relationship between the species in study and another unnamed species.
