Bile reflux is an independent risk factor for precancerous gastric lesions and gastric cancer: An observational cross-sectional study.

Objective: To identify whether bile reflux on endoscopy and other related variables are risk factors for precancerous gastric lesions and gastric cancer (GC).

Methods: A multicenter, cross-sectional and observational study was conducted in five centers in China from June to October 2019, 1162 patients were recruited and divided into the chronic gastritis (CG), the precancerous lesion (low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia and intestinal metaplasia), and GC groups (including high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia). All participants underwent detailed interviews, endoscopy and biopsy, and completed questionnaires.

Objective: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection is closely associated with gastric ulcers and gastric adenocarcinomas. We aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of a quadruple regimen with amoxicillin plus berberine vs tetracycline plus furazolidone in rescue therapy for H.

Effects of leptin on norepinephrine in acute ischemic stroke.

Stroke is a multifactorial disease and a consequence of morbidities of diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and heart diseases. Leptin is a major adipokine that regulates weight balance and energy homeostasis, the level of which has been considered as an indicator of acute ischemic stroke. In the present study, we confirmed the high level of leptin and noradrenaline in stroke patients and mouse models as well as oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) primary cerebral neurons.

Influence of serum vitamin D level on Helicobacter pylori eradication: A multi-center, observational, prospective and cohort study.

Objectives: This study was designed to test whether serum vitamin D levels affected Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection and eradication rates.

Methods: A multicenter observational prospective cohort study was conducted.

Three new sesquiterpenes from Ainsliaea glabra.

Three new sesquiterpenes: 4-acrylic-6-methyl-α-tetralone (1), ainsliaea acid A (2) and ainsliaea acid B (3), together with 8 known compounds (4-11) were isolated from the whole herb of Ainsliaea glabra and their structures were established by means of 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy and HR-ESIMS. Compounds 1-6 were tested for the inhibition of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) in the 293-NF-κB-luciferase reporter cell line induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS), and compound 2 was further tested for the production of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), IL-6 and IL-10 in RAW264.7 macrophages induced by LPS.

New Sesquiterpenenoids from Ainsliaea yunnanensis.

Investigation of the ethanol extract of the whole plant of Ainsliaea yunnanensis led to the isolation of four new dimeric sesquiterpene lactones, ainsliadimer F-I (1-4), together with seven known dimeric sesquiterpene lactones (5-11) and ten sesquiterpenes (12-21). Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods. The relative stereochemistry of ainsliadimer F was further confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.

Antiplatelet and antithrombotic activities of timosaponin B-II, an extract of Anemarrhena asphodeloides.

1. Antithrombotic agents are effective in the treatment of ischaemic stroke. Timosaponin B-II (TB-II) is a major active component of Anemarrhena asphodeloides Bunge (Liliaceae; rhizome) that has protective effects against cerebral ischaemic damage.

Timosaponin B-II inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokine induction by lipopolysaccharide in BV2 cells.

It was reported that the total polysaccharides extracts from Anemarrhenae asphodeloides Bge (Liliaceae, rhizome) could inhibit inflammatory responses in various models. In the present study, the effects of Timosaponin B-II, a purified extract from A. asphodeloidesb, on the expressions of IL-1beta, TNF-alpha and IL-6, the activity of NF-kappaB and the activation of signal pathway related to NF-kappaB were explored in vitro.
