The exploration of the interactions between diseases and metabolites holds significant implications for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. However, traditional experimental methods are time-consuming and costly, and current computational methods often overlook the influence of other biological entities on both. In light of these limitations, we proposed a novel deep learning model based on metapath aggregation of tripartite heterogeneous networks (MAHN) to explore disease-related metabolites.

Neuronal ferroptosis in particular plays an important role in early brain injury. Bromodomain-containing protein 4, a member of the bromo and extraterminal domain family of proteins, participated in multiple cell death pathways, but the mechanisms by which it regulates ferroptosis remain unclear.

Editors, authors, and reviewers must take responsibility for questioning existing systems and structures, specifically about how they diffuse the knowledge of a few and silence the knowledge of many. This article presents 12 recommendations proposed by (GSCAC), a group of HPE professionals, representing countries in the Global South, to help the Global North enact practical changes to become more inclusive and engage in authentic and representative work in HPE publishing.

Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) were successfully synthesized from carbohydrate-rich residue of birch obtained following the lignin-first strategy. The optical and physicochemical properties of the CQDs were studied, along with their potential for photocatalytic pollutant degradation. By combining solvothermal and chemical oxidation methods, the product yield of CQDs from carbohydrate-rich residue reached 8.

By comparing experimental measurements to the quantum simulations, the nonsecular effect in the collision dissipation of molecular alignment was unveiled from the gas-density-dependent decay rates of the molecular alignment revival signals. Different from the conventional perspective that the nonsecular collisional effect rapidly fades within the initial few picoseconds following laser excitation, our simulations of the time-dependent decoherence process demonstrated that this effect can last for tens of picoseconds in the low-pressure regime.

Their structures were determined through comprehensive 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic analyses and HRESIMS data. Of note, are inseparable mixtures of epimers due to their unstable nature, and a total of eight dammarane-type triterpene saponins were identified.

This "exhaustion" is coupled to persistent upregulation of inhibitory receptor programmed death-1 (PD-1) (Pdcd1)-key in suppressing antiviral CTL responses. Here, we investigate allelic Pdcd1 subnuclear localization and transcription during acute and chronic lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) infection in mice.

Dihydroxyaluminum aminoacetate, heavy magnesium carbonate, and aspirin tablets is a new combined aspirin preparation, each containing aspirin (81 mg), dihydroxyaluminum aminoacetate (11 mg), and heavy magnesium carbonate (22 mg). This study was conducted to evaluate the pharmacokinetic (PK) and bioequivalence in healthy Chinese subjects. This randomized, open-label, single-dose, 2-sequence, and 2-period crossover study included 78 healthy volunteers (fasting, n = 36; postprandial, n = 42).

Lactate has garnered increasing attention in recent years because of its emerging role in critical biological processes such as inflammation regulation and neuroprotection, particularly through its histone lactylation. Bromodomain-containing protein 4 (BRD4) plays a crucial role in maintaining neural development and promoting memory formation in the central nervous system.

While ultrafast x-ray and electron diffraction methods can achieve the needed subangstrom spatial resolution, their temporal resolution is still limited to hundreds of femtoseconds, much longer than the few femtoseconds required to probe real-time molecular dynamics. Here, we show that high-order harmonics generated by intense femtosecond lasers can be used to image molecules with few-ten-attosecond temporal resolution and few-picometer spatial resolution.

Traditional wet lab experiments in biology require expensive financial, material, and human resources to investigate the relationship between circRNA and diseases. Therefore, we propose a new predictive model for inferring the association between circRNA and diseases, called HAGACDA.

Due to intrinsic defect of fire hazard security, improving the flame retardant capacity of paper is still insufficient in case of precombustion. Herein, we integrate the flame retardant with flame detection performance on the surface of paper, the restricts of graphene oxide (GO) are overcome between high thermoelectric performance and flexibility. A flexible lamellar thermoelectric composite (GO-LA-HP) is constructed through the co-assembly of GO, ascorbic acid (LA), and phenoxycycloposphazene (HP), lamellar GO-LA-HP avoid GO's toughness decline after modification, but also enhance fire sensitivity and flame resistance.
