Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) is a common healthcare-associated infection and the leading cause of gastroenteritis-related deaths worldwide. To investigate the effects of peptide composition of different protein products on CDI, we analyzed and compared the peptide sequences and compositions from Engraulis japonicus and Glycine max using Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS). An animal model of CDI was also established to investigate the potential therapeutic effects of these peptides in vivo.

Male spermatogenesis dysfunctions are associated with environmental pollutants, but the detailed mechanisms remain poorly understood. In this study, healthy C57BL/6 J mice were used to establish an animal model of maternal exposure to traffic pollutant during pregnancy, and the toxic effects on the reproductive system of F2 male mice were analysed using mRNA and miRNA microarray. Our results showed that 54 miRNAs and 1927 mRNAs were significantly altered in the exposed group.

Arsenite exposure is known to increase the risk of neurological disorders via alteration of dopamine content, but the detailed molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown. In this study, using both dopaminergic neurons of the PC-12 cell line and C57BL/6J mice as in vitro and in vivo models, our results demonstrated that 6 months of arsenite exposure via drinking water caused significant learning and memory impairment, anxiety-like behavior and alterations in conditioned avoidance and escape responses in male adult mice. We also were the first to reveal that the reduction in dopamine content induced by arsenite mainly resulted from deficits in dopaminergic neurotransmission in the synaptic cleft.

Arsenite is a toxic metalloid that may increase the risk of Parkinson's disease by inducing dopaminergic neuronal apoptosis. Luteolin, a common dietary flavonoid, possesses variety of biological functions, but potential effects of luteolin on arsenite toxicity remain elusive. We unveiled the association of Annexin A7 with vascular endothelial growth factor-C (VEGF-C) and the effect of upregulation of Annexin A7 in Hca-F and Hca-P cells on inhibiting hepatocarcinoma (HCC) lymph node metastasis (LNM) in vitro and in vivo. A total of 200 inbred 615 mice were randomly divided into four equal groups inoculated with Hca-F, Hca-P, FAnxa7-upregulated, and PAnxa7-upregulated cells, respectively. In the tumor malignancy progression, lymph node metastasis (LNM) is recognized as an important factor.
