Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a common chronic liver disorder mainly caused by an imbalance in lipid homeostasis. Y-box binding protein 1 (YBX1) participates in multiple pathophysiological processes, including embryonic development, tissue repair, liver disorders, and energy metabolism. The objective of this study is to investigate the mechanisms underlying MASLD and characterize the role of YBX1 in MASLD.

However, its impact on outcomes in infertility women undergoing assisted reproductive technology remains unclear. This study aimed to examine the relationship between PRL levels and reproductive outcomes in frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles under hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLandslides are a prevalent and devastating form of geological disaster. These events occur when gravity causes rock and soil masses to slide along specific surfaces or zones, often triggered by intense rainfall, seismic activity, or human engineering activities. Assessing landslide hazard risk is crucial for effective disaster management, yet traditional approaches often rely on administrative or grid units, which lack the granularity needed for site-specific hazard management.

The TriVerity™ Test, performed on the Myrna™ Instrument, is the first rapid high-multiplex host-response mRNA diagnostic test that supports clinical decision-making by evaluating the likelihood of bacterial and/or viral infections and severity of illness. We present findings of the first, proof of concept, real-world evaluation in an emergency department (ED).

Nevertheless, it is frequently noted that cancer cells depend on glutaminolysis to replenish essential metabolites. Whether and how glutaminolysis might enhance lactate production and facilitate DNA repair in cancer cells remains unknown.

Traditional regional landslide susceptibility assessment models often evaluate individual units in isolation, neglecting the hydrological connections between slope units within a watershed. This approach fails to account for the occurrence of landslides in groups.

Materials And Methods: A total of 6061 patients with type 2 diabetes were prospectively recruited in a single centre.
Objective: Previous studies suggested that sudomotor dysfunction is closely related to multiple diabetic microvascular complications. We aimed to investigate the association between sudomotor dysfunction and subclinical carotid atherosclerosis (SCAS) in people with type 2 diabetes.
Methods: A total of 1788 participants were included in this cross-sectional study.
Aims: Time spent in the glucose range of 70-180 mg/dL (TIR) has become entrenched as a key measure of glycaemic control, which was linked to diabetes-related outcomes in previous studies. However, there has been a recent debate about whether to instead emphasize time in the target range of 70-140 mg/dL (time in tight range, TITR). We aimed to assess the association between TITR and incident diabetic retinopathy in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Gossip is ubiquitous. People gossip for several reasons. Beyond well-studied explanations, we propose an underexplored reason: tellers overestimate the extent to which gossiping encourages listeners' self-disclosure.

Study Design And Setting: We searched the OPMDs-related clinical studies registered in the ClinicalTrials.gov database before March 1, 2024.
Objective: Initiation of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress is pivotal to the advancement of osteoarthritis (OA). We aimed to explore the function of ER-resident selenoprotein M (SELM) in cartilage-forming chondrocytes, investigating how SELM participates in cartilage extracellular matrix (ECM) metabolism and ER stress modulation.
Methods: Articular cartilage samples with knee OA undergoing total knee arthroplasty were categorised into OA-smooth and OA-damaged groups, with primary chondrocytes extracted from smooth areas.
The loss-of-function mutation of AT-rich interactive domain 1A (ARID1A) frequently occurs in various types of cancer, making it a promising therapeutic target. In the present study, we performed a screening of an FDA-approved drug library in ARID1A isogenic colorectal cancer (CRC) cells and discovered that ARID1A loss sensitizes CRC cells to floxuridine (FUDR), an antineoplastic agent used for treating hepatic metastases from CRC, both in vivo and in vitro. As a pyrimidine analogue, FUDR induces DNA damage by inhibiting thymidylate synthase (TS) activity.

We investigated the characteristics of insulin sensitivity and β-cell function behind this observation. After age, sex, and BMI matching, 496 study participants selected from 3,965 individuals without diabetes who were at high risk of type 2 diabetes in a tertiary medical center were categorized into four groups in a 1:1:1:1 ratio based on OGTT results: 1) 1-h PG level <8.

Methods: 923 FSWs in entertainment venues in a region of Guangxi were selected as survey respondents by using intentional sampling and employing a self-developed basic information questionnaire. The social support rating and the HPV vaccination behavior scales were analyzed to determine the current status of support and HPV vaccination behavior of FSWs in entertainment venues.
Background: The use of real-time continuous glucose monitoring (rtCGM) technology remains largely investigational in the hospital setting. The current study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of rtCGM in inpatients with diabetes who were treated with short-term continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII).
Methods: In this randomized, parallel controlled trial conducted on the endocrinology wards in a tertiary hospital located in Shanghai, adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes who required short-term CSII during hospitalization were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive either rtCGM-based glucose monitoring and management program or point-of-care (POC) standard of care (8 times/day) with blinded CGM.
Aim: We investigated the relationship between the complexity of the glucose time series index (CGI) during pregnancy and adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, 388 singleton pregnant women with GDM underwent continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) at a median of 26.86 gestational weeks.
Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a non-fatal disease prevalent worldwide. However, mixed efficacy has been observed among different therapies for hair regrowth in AGA patients. Thus, a nano-platform with synergistic treatments based on a hybrid extracellular vesicle encapsulating gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and finasteride (Hybrid/Au@Fi) was constructed through membrane fusion between hair follicle stem cell (HFSC)-derived extracellular vesicles and liposomes.

Objective: To evaluate the relationship between renal function and serum 1,5-AG, and to assess the extent to which renal function influences 1,5-AG.
Methods: A total of 5337 participants with type 2 diabetes were enrolled.
Metal borates are excellent source materials for exploring short-wavelength nonlinear optical (NLO) crystals. Galloborates show rich structural chemistry with various coordination configurations of Ga cation and B-O anionic units and are suitable candidates as ultraviolet NLO crystals. Up to now, the shortest cut-off edge of galloborates was reported to be down to 190 nm in KCsGa(BO)(OH), while the largest second harmonic generation (SHG) effect of galloborates was reported to be up to 4.
