Landslides are a prevalent and devastating form of geological disaster. These events occur when gravity causes rock and soil masses to slide along specific surfaces or zones, often triggered by intense rainfall, seismic activity, or human engineering activities. Assessing landslide hazard risk is crucial for effective disaster management, yet traditional approaches often rely on administrative or grid units, which lack the granularity needed for site-specific hazard management.

Lactate derived from aerobic glycolysis is crucial for DNA damage repair and chemoresistance. Nevertheless, it is frequently noted that cancer cells depend on glutaminolysis to replenish essential metabolites. Whether and how glutaminolysis might enhance lactate production and facilitate DNA repair in cancer cells remains unknown.

Rainfall-induced landslides present significant challenges in regional landslide prediction and management. Traditional regional landslide susceptibility assessment models often evaluate individual units in isolation, neglecting the hydrological connections between slope units within a watershed. This approach fails to account for the occurrence of landslides in groups.

Aims: Time spent in the glucose range of 70-180 mg/dL (TIR) has become entrenched as a key measure of glycaemic control, which was linked to diabetes-related outcomes in previous studies. However, there has been a recent debate about whether to instead emphasize time in the target range of 70-140 mg/dL (time in tight range, TITR). We aimed to assess the association between TITR and incident diabetic retinopathy in adults with type 2 diabetes.

  • Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology offers a superior way to track glycemic control compared to traditional methods like glycated haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), providing insights into glucose levels in real-time.
  • Time in range (TIR), which measures the time spent within a glucose level range of 3.9-10.0 mmol/L, is commonly used to evaluate glucose management, but a new metric called time in tight range (TITR) focuses on a stricter range of 3.9-7.8 mmol/L for better control.
  • While TITR and TIR are closely related, TITR can be more relevant in scenarios requiring tighter glycemic control,

The loss-of-function mutation of AT-rich interactive domain 1A (ARID1A) frequently occurs in various types of cancer, making it a promising therapeutic target. In the present study, we performed a screening of an FDA-approved drug library in ARID1A isogenic colorectal cancer (CRC) cells and discovered that ARID1A loss sensitizes CRC cells to floxuridine (FUDR), an antineoplastic agent used for treating hepatic metastases from CRC, both in vivo and in vitro. As a pyrimidine analogue, FUDR induces DNA damage by inhibiting thymidylate synthase (TS) activity.
