Sweat rate magnitude is a desired outcome for any wearable sensing patch dedicated to sweat analysis. In recent decades, technological advances have been made in the field of radiotherapy and with it the emergence of new dosimetric systems for their calibration and commissioning, among other uses. Such is the case of the measurement in the build-up region, where there is no charged-particle equilibrium, which is reflected in the increase in surface dose for patient treatments and potential skin toxicities as a secondary effect. This study utilizes optically stimulated dosemeters (nanoDot) and the radiochromic film (EBT3) to measure skin doses in patients with head and neck cancer who received radiotherapy.

St. John's wort (SJW) extract, a herbal medicine with antidepressant effects, is a potent inducer of intestinal and/or hepatic cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes and P-glycoprotein (P-gp), which can cause clinically relevant drug interactions. It is currently not known whether SJW can also induce P-gp activity at the human blood-brain barrier (BBB), which may potentially lead to decreased brain exposure and efficacy of certain central nervous system (CNS)-targeted P-gp substrate drugs.

Two of the largest water reservoirs in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, Brazil (MRSP), named Billings and Guarapiranga, are facing high levels of anthropic impact. This is evidenced by the presence of contaminants and pollutants, which are deteriorating their water quality. We aimed to identify the phenotypes, endotypes, and biomarkers of reactions to carboplatin and oxaliplatin and their response to DD.
