Patient safety culture (PSC) is a multidimensional construct that reflects the way healthcare organizations promote safe patient care. Veterinary students are explicitly and implicitly indoctrinated into organizational cultures and will carry these attitudes and behaviors into their future work. In this study, we evaluated the psychometric properties of a PSC survey among veterinary students in the United States and investigated their attitudes toward PSC.

A step-transition in external work rate (WR) increases pulmonary O uptake (V̇o) in a monoexponential fashion. Although the rate of this increase, quantified by the time constant (τ), has frequently been shown to be similar between multiple different WR amplitudes (ΔWR), the adjustment of O delivery to the muscle (via blood flow; BF), a potential regulator of V̇o kinetics, has not been extensively studied. Objective: To determine whether bupivacaine liposomal injectable suspension (BLIS) supports microbial growth when artificially inoculated and to evaluate liposomal stability in the face of this extrinsic contamination as evidenced by changes in free bupivacaine concentrations.

Pyostomatitis vegetans (PSV) is a rare disorder strongly associated with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), most commonly ulcerative colitis, but has infrequently been found in patients with Crohn disease (CD). We present the case of a 7-year-old girl with PSV and extraintestinal findings suggestive of CD-chelitis granulomatosa, perianal and vulvar edema with biopsies revealing noncaseating granulomas, and anal skin tags-and an elevated calprotectin noted during a cutaneous flare. At the onset of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) pandemic, USA faced supply chain issues causing a nationwide shortage of N95 respirators and PAPR devices. Researchers at Oak Ridge National Laboratory's (ORNL) Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF) were sent to work from home to help slow the spread of the pandemic, and during that time they were tasked with using their manufacturing expertise to research alternative methods of producing face masks. To rapidly iterate on face mask designs without access to a research or manufacturing facility, 3D (3-Dimensional) printing and silicone casting were used.

Background: Hypoxaemia is a common concern during equine general anaesthesia. The prevalence and predictors of hypoxaemia in horses undergoing elective anaesthesia in particular are poorly documented.
