Objectives: To determine the impact of celecoxib and etoricoxib therapy on serum and synovial fluid levels of IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, sTNFR1, sTNFR2 and IL-1Ra in patients with inflammatory arthritis. To determine the correlation between cytokine changes and synovial membrane penetration index of the study drugs, and pain VAS change.

Methods: Fifty-one patients with inflammatory synovial fluid accumulation in a knee joint (33 women), randomized on 3 groups of 17 each: 100 mg b.

Objectives: Systemic sclerosis-related pulmonary arterial hypertension (SSc PAH) is a major complication of both limited and diffuse systemic sclerosis and leads to substantial morbidity and mortality. Natriuretic peptides (NP) are clinically useful markers of right ventricular dysfunction and pulmonary hypertension. The aim of our review was to examine the evidence for the physiologic, diagnostic, and prognostic role of NP in the context of SSc PAH.

Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a connective tissue disease, which may lead to pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH). N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) is a biologic marker for the diagnosis and treatment of congestive heart failure. The aim of our study was to investigate the potential role of the plasma NT-proBNP assay in the assessment of functional status and right heart performance in systemic sclerosis-related pulmonary hypertension (SScPAH).
