Climate change is the greatest threat to global health. As climate change worsens, heat waves will be longer, more intense, and more frequent. Increased health risks from climate change and heat waves include heat-related illness (HRI).

Farmworker Acceptability of Backpack Hydration Systems.

Objective: To improve water access while working and contribute to fewer heat-related illnesses (HRI), backpack hydration systems were provided to over 200 farmworkers to use during the 2022 growing season. Acceptability of the water intake intervention was assessed among farmworkers in eastern North Carolina, USA.

Methods: With a pre-established community-university partnership, the acceptability of the intervention was assessed using a cross-sectional survey.

The need for data management standards in public health nursing: A narrative review and case study.

Background: Data management is the key to the success of all projects and research. The ability to safely store, manipulate, and decipher data in real time is invaluable. Currently data management standards in public health are non-existent.
