Prone frontal and cross-table lateral views of the abdomen are recommended as most helpful in radiographic evaluation of infants and children suspected of having obstructive of nonobstructive ileus. A series of films in multiple projections is recommended to evaluate the gas in the large bowel, particularly the rectum. When studies must be limited, prone and left lateral decubitus views are recommended.

Positive contrast peritoneography allows the preoperative demonstration of the exact diaphragmatic contour in suspected eventration or paralysis. Anatomical appearances of bilateral elevation or infracardiac involvement will indicate the need for abdominal rather than transthoracic approach for repair. The use of peritoneography should permit rapid evaluation of newborns with respiratory distress and allow repair before long-standing respirator support has produced pulmonary parenchymal damage.

A 16 year old male with a four year history of recurrent pheochromocytoma develops multiple osseous lytic lesions in the skull, clavicle, ribs, and fibula all of an expansile, ill-defined appearance. These are biopsy proven metastatic sites. To our knowledge this is the first reported proven case of malignant extra-adrenal or adrenal pheochromocytoma with multiple bone metastases in a child.

Preliminary clinical results with an association of high doses of vincamine and chlordiazepoxide in subjects with recurrent depression are presented. It is felt that vincamine has a clinically appreciable psychoactive action.
