Objectives: To support the daily oral hygiene of patients experiencing gum inflammation, a new mouthwash was developed containing an amine + zinc lactate + fluoride system. In vitro and clinical efficacy was assessed using traditional methods as well as using novel site-specific and subject-specific analyses of the clinical data.

Materials And Methods: This mouthwash was evaluated in a 12-h biofilm regrowth assay against a negative control mouthwash and in a 6-month plaque and gingivitis clinical study as compared to a negative control mouthwash.

The 21st century is characterized by accelerated technological innovation, resulting in digitization of most areas of medicine and dentistry. Dental implant surgical planning has evolved from using analog static guides to computer generated guides and dynamic surgical guidance. Dynamic surgical placement has started gaining ground with the use of navigated surgery and robot assisted implant placement.

Combining tooth extraction and implant placement reduces the number of surgical procedures that a patient must undergo. Thus, the present study aimed to compare the stability of two types of conical implants (TAC and INTRALOCK) and another cylindrical one (CYROTH), inserted with a range of angulation of 15-20 degrees in low-density polyurethane blocks (10 and 20 pounds per cubic foot, PCF) with or without a cortical lamina (30 PCF), which potentially mimicked the post-extraction in vivo condition. For this purpose, a total of 120 polyurethane sites were prepared (10 for each implant and condition) and the Insertion Torque (IT), Removal Torque (RT), and Resonance Frequency Analysis (RFA) were measured, following a Three-Way analysis of variance followed by Tukey's post hoc test for the statistical analysis of data.

Background: Developmental Defects of Enamel (DDE) represent an aesthetic, functional, and often psychological problem, especially in young patients. Infiltrative treatment with resin (Icon-DMG, Hamburg, Germany) is a minimally invasive technique based on the infiltration of high viscosity resin inside the hypomineralized enamel, modifying its optical properties. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the clinical efficacy of superficial infiltration in the treatment of white enamel defects of the anterior sector with pre-eruptive etiology and its stability over time.

Over the years, several bone regeneration procedures have been proposed using natural (autografts, allografts, and xenografts) and synthetic (i.e., metals, ceramics, and polymers) bone grafts.

Background: The authors conducted an in vitro and a clinical study to assess the effect of a toothpaste containing stannous fluoride to occlude dentin tubules and reduce dentinal hypersensitivity.

Methods: For the in vitro study, the authors treated the surface of human dentin specimens with test or control toothpaste slurries and then evaluated them by using various spectroscopic techniques. For the clinical study, male and female participants who met the inclusion criteria brushed their teeth twice daily for 1 minute with test or control toothpaste.

A variety of surgical procedures have been developed to accelerate orthodontic treatment of adult patients seeking to enhance their smiles or masticatory function. While most of these techniques are invasive, the minimally invasive piezocision technique reduces trauma by combining microincisions and localized piezoelectric bone surgery. A method for combining piezocision with the use of computed tomography is presented here.
