Food additives are utilized in countless food products available for sale. They enhance or obtain a specific flavor, extend the storage time, or obtain a desired texture. This paper presents an automatic classification system for five food additives based on their absorbance in the ultraviolet domain.

The devised synthesis is modular and relies on thienannulation of corannnulene-based phenylacetylene scaffolds. The final compounds are highly soluble in common organic solvents.

The compounds were characterized by FT-IR, UV-Vis, NMR spectroscopy, and LC-MS spectrometry techniques. The pH-dependent photochromic properties of the flavylium dyes were investigated through a UV-Vis spectroscopy study and revealed that they follow the same network of chemical reactions as anthocyanins upon pH changes.

One of the most effective disinfection methods is ultraviolet (UV) radiation. To ensure the disinfection device has the required wavelength spectrum, we need to measure it with dedicated equipment.

The studied optical and electrochemical properties supported by theoretical calculations revealed that the nature and the strength of the terminal groups exert a decisive influence on the polymer bulk-heterojunction OSC performance.

This paper presents the development of an end-user device capable of capturing images, segmentation and diagnosis of moles by using the ABCD rule, which stands for analyzing moles' parameters as: asymmetry, border, color, and diameter. These are the main mole characteristics that doctors look at, each of them having a different factor of importance, and depending on these an accurate diagnosis can be given.
