Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reactions (eCORR) have emerged as promising strategies for both mitigating CO emissions and converting them into valuable products. Despite the promise, challenges such as stability, efficiency, and availability of CO on the electrode surface, especially at high current densities, still need to be overcome. Herein, this study explores the precipitation of CuO nanoparticles with monoethanolamine to preserve nitrogen groups on the surface of the material.

In this study, the photocatalytic performance of fac-[ClRe(CO)3(dcbH2)], where dcbH2 = 4,4'-dicarboxylic acid-2,2'-bipyridine, anchored onto the surface of 1%m/m CuO/Nb2O5 was investigated. Following adsorption, the turnover number for CO production (TONCO) in DMF/TEOA increased significantly, from ten in solution to 370 under visible light irradiation, surpassing the TONCO observed for the complex onto pristine Nb2O5 or CuO surfaces.

Herein, we demonstrated that a cold (low temperature) CO plasma treatment of GS electrodes provides a substantial improvement of the electrochemical activity of these electrodes due to the increased structural defects on the GS surface as revealed by Raman spectroscopy (I/I ratio), and scanning electron microscopy images. XPS analyses confirmed the formation of oxygenated functional groups at the GS surface after the plasma treatment that are intrinsically related to the substantial increase in the electron transfer coefficient (K values increased from 1.

Safinamide inhibits monoamine oxidase B in a highly selective and reversible manner and beyond that has anti-glutamatergic properties, with positive effects on motor and non-motor symptoms. The aim of the study was to obtain data about the effectiveness and tolerability of safinamide under routine clinical practice conditions in unselected patients with Parkinson's disease (PD).

This was a cross-sectional, observational study, with children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer, from 2 to 18 years of age, of both sexes, invited to participate in the city of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory-Computer Adaptive Test (PEDI-CAT) questionnaire was applied to the caregivers to assess the functioning of the participants, in four domains: daily activities, mobility, social/cognitive, and responsibility.

Although aerosol transmission is possible, direct contact through large droplets is probably responsible for the vast majority of transmissions.
Methods: This paper is the second of a series of 3 on the management of COVID-19 in clinical dental care settings and aims to describe the selection and use of personal protection equipment (PPE) by dental care professionals (DCP), with consideration of the level of risk associated with the planned procedures.
To evaluate different femoral fixation devices for medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction and compare their effectiveness regarding fixation strength up to failure in porcine knees. Thirty porcine knees were used, divided into three groups of 10 knees. The removed grafts were dissected from the extensor tendons of porcine feet.

The study also analyzed the divergences and similarities of these WQI methods. Water quality data were obtained from the Monitoring Program (Monitora) of Environment and Water Resources Institute of Bahia (INEMA), covering the period from 2008 to 2015, at thirteen (13) sampling sites, with quarterly collections, as well as land use and occupation data.

Objective: Perform genotyping of SNPs in the promoter region of the SMO gene in BCC samples from patients from northeastern Brazil, and to determine if there is an association of these SNPs of the gene in question with the susceptibility to the development of the BCC.
Methods: 100 samples of paraffined tissue from patients with histopathological diagnosis of BCC and 100 control samples were analyzed for each polymorphism by a newly developed genotyping method, the Dideoxy Single Allele Specific - PCR. The software Bioestat - version 5.
Material processing has become essential for the proper control, tuning and consequent application of the properties of micro/nanoparticles. In this case, we report herein the capability of the microwave-assisted hydrothermal (MAH) method to prepare the SrTiO3 compound, as a case study of inorganic compounds. Analyses conducted by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron and X-ray absorption spectroscopies confirmed that the MAH route enables the formation of pristine SrTiO3.

However, the anthropogenic activities in river basin influence areas accelerate the eutrophication process of water bodies. Eutrophication is a global problem and considered one of the most relevant reasons of aquatic environments' degradation.

This paper describes the synthesis of BiOCO/BiVO heterostructures through a one-step method based on the difference in solubility between two semiconductors that possess a metal in common. The as-synthesized BiOCO/BiVO heterostructures were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Raman spectroscopy, ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-vis DRS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), N physisorption, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and time resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy (TRPL). The role of the heterojunction formed was evaluated by methylene blue (MB) dye and amiloride photodegradation.

The most important constitutional risk factors for basal cell carcinoma development are clear phototypes (I and II, Fitzpatrick classification), family history of basal cell carcinoma (30-60%), freckles in childhood, eyes and light hair. The environmental risk factor better established is exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
