There are limited options for primary prevention of breast cancer (BC). Experimental procedures to locally prevent BC have shown therapeutic efficacy in animal models. To determine the suitability of FDA-approved iodine-containing and various metal-containing (bismuth, gold, iodine, or tantalum) preclinical nanoparticle-based contrast agents for image-guided intraductal (ID) ablative treatment of BC in rodent models, we performed a prospective longitudinal study to determine the imaging performance, local retention and systemic clearance, safety profile, and compatibility with ablative solution of each contrast agent.

This study aimed to analyze the influence of an educational animation on undergraduate nursing students' cultural comfort and knowledge concerning the health care needs of Muslims.

Infant and early childhood teleconsultation and training: Program description and feasibility outcomes from a statewide implementation.

To address high rates of mental health and developmental concerns facing young children ages 0-6 in the United States and internationally, providers across professional sectors need Infant and early childhood mental health (IECMH) training and support. The training and teleconsultation program (TTP) is a state-funded program developed in one Mountain West state in the United States to provide free IECMH training and teleconsultation to any provider working with young children. The TTP included access to webinars and individual or group consultation with licensed mental health providers.

Academic Achievement After Violence Exposure: The Indirect Effects of School Attachment and Motivation to Succeed.

Disparities in educational outcomes for students living in communities burdened with high rates of violence are striking as they are at an increased risk for misbehavior, low GPA, poor school attendance, and decreased standardized test scores. However, limited research identifies the role that schools play in exacerbating exposure to violence to inform changes that aid in mitigating violence exposure. As such, this study utilizes the Pathways to Desistance Study to explore the mediating roles of school attachment and motivation to succeed on students' academic outcomes after exposure to community violence.

Aim: This study evaluated the impact of a single dose of training in Debriefing for Meaningful Learning (DML) on learner knowledge outcomes and time spent in debriefing.

Background: Regulatory bodies recommend that faculty who debrief receive training and competence assessment to ensure positive student learning outcomes, yet there is little literature describing the training needed. There is also little understanding of the impact of a single training on the length of debriefing, debriefer skill, and learner outcomes.

Testing the Impact of an Asynchronous Online Training Program With Repeated Feedback.

Background: Learning to effectively debrief with student learners can be a challenging task. Currently, there is little evidence to support the best way to train and evaluate a debriefer's competence with a particular debriefing method.

Background: Approval of simulation in substitution of traditional clinical hours increased in nursing programs during the COVID-19 pandemic, yet these temporary and inconsistent between states. Variability and a return to "pre-pandemic" limits on simulation use amplify questions about consistency of learner outcomes.

Methods: Boards of Nursing (BONs) of the United States and District of Columbia (DC) were queried to verify accuracy of simulation regulations posted on the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) regulatory map and to identify factors contributing to regulatory changes.

Debriefing for Meaningful Learning: Implementing a Train-the-Trainer Program for Debriefers.

Debriefing for Meaningful Learning (DML) is a method of debriefing grounded in the theory of reflection used following a simulation or clinical learning experience to engage participants in an interactive dialogue aimed at examining and evaluating their thinking and decision-making processes. With increasing adoption of DML worldwide, a sustainable training program for nurse educators is needed. Attending conferences and workshops that provide training is challenging for many nurse educators because of time and cost constraints.

Genome-wide pharmacogenetics of anti-drug antibody response to bococizumab highlights key residues in HLA DRB1 and DQB1.

In this largest to-date genetic analysis of anti-drug antibody (ADA) response to a therapeutic monoclonal antibody (MAb), genome-wide association was performed for five measures of ADA status among 8844 individuals randomized to bococizumab, which targets PCSK9 for LDL-C lowering and cardiovascular protection. Index associations prioritized specific amino acid substitutions at the DRB1 and DQB1 MHC class II genes rather than canonical haplotypes. Two clusters of missense variants at DRB1 were associated with general ADA measures (residues 9, 11, 13; and 96, 112, 120, 180) and a third cluster of missense variants in DQB1 was associated with ADA measures including neutralizing antibody (NAb) titers (residues 66, 67, 71, 74, 75).

Identifying factors related to expulsion risk is of great need due to the high and disparate rates of young children routinely excluded from preschool classrooms. This study aimed to explore the pathways to expulsion risk among a sample of 88 preschool children from 22 Head Start classrooms. Data were collected on children's inhibitory control using the Child Behavior Questionnaire, the closeness subscale of the Student-Teacher Relationship Scale, and on children's overall expulsion risk using the Preschool Expulsion Risk Measure.

Berlin Excor Cannulation of Left Atrial Appendage in Left Ventricular Restrictive Physiology: A Novel Bailout Strategy.

Ventricular assist device (VAD) management continues to be a challenge in the presence of restrictive physiology. Left atrial (LA) decompression is not satisfactory even with good function and position of the left ventricular cannula. We describe an alternate approach with LA cannulation via the left atrial appendage (LAA) as a rescue strategy in a patient who had restrictive physiology, in our case was secondary to viral myocarditis acute systolic heart failure with subsequent insidious diffuse endomyocardial fibrosis and superimposed massive calcification, causing inadequate emptying of the left ventricle despite optimal VAD apical cannula position.

Pathways from violence to head injury and poor long-term outcomes have been found among numerous populations, however, have not yet been widely examined with youth exposed to violence. Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) are linked to a range of consequences salient to adolescent development and well-being, such as impulsivity, academic abilities, and emotional processing. This gap in research has led to a missed opportunity to understand the consequences of youth victimization, particularly within the academic setting.

The impact of neurofeedback training on children with developmental trauma: A randomized controlled study.

Objective: Developmental trauma or chronic early childhood exposure to abuse and neglect by caregivers has been shown to have a long-lasting pervasive impact on mental and neural development, including problems with attention, impulse control, self-regulation, and executive functioning. Its long-term effects are arguably the costliest public health challenge in the United States. Children with developmental trauma rarely have a satisfactory response to currently available evidence-based psychotherapeutic and pharmacological treatments.

Measuring self-reported polyvictimization in foster youth research: A systematic review.

Background: Youth who are or have been in foster care (foster youth) are at higher risk for adverse outcomes in early adulthood. As the importance and complexity of victimization experiences, including types, timing, and perpetrators, is better understood it is unclear whether or to what extent the research on foster youth assesses polyvictimization. Because many types of victimization, such as community violence, are under-reported or absent in the administrative data typically used for research with foster care populations, self-reports of victimization experiences are necessary to comprehensively assess polyvictimization.

Respiratory pathogens associated with intubated pediatric patients following hematopoietic cell transplant.

Background: We describe organisms found in the respiratory tracts of a multicenter cohort of pediatric hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) recipients with respiratory failure.

Methods: Twelve centers contributed up to 25 pediatric allogeneic HCT recipients requiring mechanical ventilation for respiratory failure to a retrospective database. Positive respiratory pathogens and method of obtaining sample were recorded.

Multiple, simultaneous environmental changes, in climatic/abiotic factors, interacting species, and direct human influences, are impacting natural populations and thus biodiversity, ecosystem services, and evolutionary trajectories. Determining whether the magnitudes of the population impacts of abiotic, biotic, and anthropogenic drivers differ, accounting for their direct effects and effects mediated through other drivers, would allow us to better predict population fates and design mitigation strategies. We compiled 644 paired values of the population growth rate () from high and low levels of an identified driver from demographic studies of terrestrial plants.
