Introduction: Patients with non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS) and concomitant multivessel coronary artery disease (CAD) are considered patients with extremely high-risk atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), and current guidelines specify a lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) target for this population. Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitors have been shown to effectively reduce LDL-C levels on a statin background. Additionally, several studies have confirmed the role of PCSK9 inhibitors in plaque regression and reducing residual cardiovascular risk in patients with ACS.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the main malignant tumors with high mortality and short survival time. Immunotherapy has become the standard treatment for advanced NSCLC, but it has the problems of drug resistance and low response rate. Therefore, obtaining effective biomarkers to predict and enhance immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) efficacy in NSCLC is important.

Rationale: Primary intracranial malignant melanoma (PIMM) is a rare malignant tumor that lacks specific clinical manifestations. Preoperative diagnosis is difficult to differentiate from meningiomas on computed tomography (CT) scans. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) usually shows typical characteristics with high signal intensity on T1WI and low signal intensity on T2WI.

Background: Proteomic studies investigating novel molecular markers of coronary artery calcification (CAC) are scarce. This study compared the protein expression in the serum of patients with severe CAC and non-CAC.

Methods: The serum from 30 patients with severe CAC and 30 matched-controls were screened by data-independent acquisition(DIA)-based proteomic technology.

The proliferation of cardiac fibroblasts (CFs) and excessive deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM) are the main pathological characteristics of cardiac fibrosis. In recent years, microRNAs (miRNAs) have been found to be a new kind of regulator in cardiac fibrosis. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of microRNA-9 (miR-9) in the process of cardiac fibrosis and its mechanism.

The floating growth process of large-scale freestanding TiO2 nanorod films at the gas-liquid interface was investigated. On the basis of the experiments, a self-templated growth scenario was developed to account for the self-assembly process. In the scenario, titanium complexes function not only as the Ti source for the growth of TiO2 but also as a soft template provider for the floating growth.

This paper describes a facile one-step synthesis of large-scale floating TiO2 nanorod arrays via a hydrothermal reaction without using any surfactants, which opens a new way to prepare floating photocatalysts for photodecomposition of floating organics and free-standing nanorod arrays for flexible dye-sensitized solar cells. A general model is developed to analyze the driving force for the floating TiO2 film, which may be also useful for other two-dimensional materials to determine the obtainable size of an arbitrary shaped film floated by surface tension and buoyancy.
