Objectives: This study aimed to identify the cyclical "on-off" flow of pulmonary microcirculation during inspiration and expiration by sidestream dark field imaging (SDF) technology in vivo and investigate the effects of volume status and driving pressure on cyclical "on-off" flow of microcirculation.
Methods: 24 ARDS-modeled rabbits were randomly divided into high-driving pressure group (HDP group) and low-driving pressure group (LDP group). Lung microcirculation measurements were performed using the SDF microscope at two timepoints (T1 CVP 2-4 mmHg, T2 CVP 8-10 mmHg).
Objective: Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) has been used to titrate positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP). This study aims to develop a comprehensive view of the efficacy and long-term prognosis of EIT-guided PEEP compared to other conventional approaches in various clinical scenarios, including patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), hypoxemic acute respiratory failure (hARF) and patients undergoing surgery under general anesthesia.
Methods: The literature search was conducted in PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and Cochrane Library, from inception to July 30, 2023 (ARDS/hARF) and October 5, 2023 (surgery).
The copper nanoclusters (CuNCs) have been garnered significant attention owing to their low cost raw materials, outstanding optical properties, environmental friendliness and good biocompatibility. In this study, copper nanoclusters stabilized by Acid Chromic Blue K (ACBK-CuNCs) were synthesized. The optimal excitation wavelength of the synthesized ACBK-CuNCs is 344 nm and the optimal emission wavelength is 460 nm.

The peripheral perfusion index (PI) is derived from pulse oximetry and is defined as the ratio of the pulse wave of the pulsatile portion (arteries) to the non-pulsatile portion (venous and other tissues). A growing number of clinical studies have supported the use of PI in various clinical scenarios, such as guiding hemodynamic management and serving as an indicator of outcome and organ function. In this review, we will introduce and discuss this traditional but neglected indicator of the peripheral microcirculatory perfusion.

The complement system is a set of over 50 proteins that constitutes an essential part of the innate immune system. Complement system activation involves an organized proteolytic cascade. Overactivation of complement system activation is the main pathogenic mechanism of several diseases and contributes to the manifestations of many other conditions.

Metal drug-eluting stent unloading is one of the most common clinical complications. Comparatively, BRS detachment is more concealed and harmful, but has yet to be reported in clinical research.

Materials And Methods: A dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis model was used.
Background: Patient-ventilator asynchrony (PVA) frequently occurs in mechanically ventilated patients within the ICU and has the potential for harm. Depending solely on the health care team cannot accurately and promptly identify PVA. To address this issue, our team has developed a cloud-based platform for monitoring mechanical ventilation (MV), comprising the PVA-RemoteMonitor system and the 24-h MV analysis report.

The association of circular RNA (circRNA) with cisplatin resistance in ovarian cancer has been observed, but the mechanisms governing this relationship require further elucidation.
Methods: High-throughput sequencing was utilized to profile circRNA expression in cisplatin-resistant ovarian cancer cells.
Federated learning (FL) has emerged as a significant method for developing machine learning models across multiple devices without centralized data collection. Candidemia, a critical but rare disease in ICUs, poses challenges in early detection and treatment. The goal of this study is to develop a privacy-preserving federated learning framework for predicting candidemia in ICU patients.

Pendelluft, frequently observed in patients experiencing SBT failure, can be conveniently detected through bedside monitoring with electrical impedance tomography (EIT). This study aimed to explore the impact of pendelluft during SBT on difficult-to-wean patients.

Identifying ASD patients based on resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) data is a promising diagnostic tool, but challenging due to the complex and unclear etiology of autism. And it is difficult to effectively identify ASD patients with a single data source (single task).

The sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) is the most commonly used scoring system for diagnosing sepsis and assessing severity. Due to the widespread use of endotracheal intubation and sedative medications in sepsis, the accuracy of the Glasgow Coma Score (GCS) is the lowest in SOFA.

Material And Methods: A retrospective study of patients with sepsis using the Peking Union Medical College Hospital Intensive Care Medical Information System and Database from January 2014 to June 2020 was performed.
Pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) is the standard treatment for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. However, it poses risks of perioperative vascular complications, which can lead to serious clinical outcomes. This study introduces a novel noninvasive and radiation-free clinical imaging tool, electrical impedance tomography (EIT), for real-time bedside assessment of lung perfusion after PEA.

However, the compositions and source profiles of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from aircraft are still not clear. In this study, the characteristics of VOCs (including oxygenated VOCs (OVOCs)) emitted from airport sources were measured at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport.

DNA supercoiling must be precisely regulated by topoisomerases to prevent DNA entanglement. The interaction of type IIA DNA topoisomerases with two DNA molecules, enabling the transport of one duplex through the transient double-stranded break of the other, remains elusive owing to structures derived solely from single linear duplex DNAs lacking topological constraints. Using cryo-electron microscopy, we solved the structure of DNA gyrase bound to a negatively supercoiled minicircle DNA.
