Background And Aim: In this study, a transfer learning (TL) algorithm was used to predict postoperative recurrence of advanced gastric cancer (AGC) and to evaluate its value in a small-sample clinical study.
Methods: A total of 431 cases of AGC from three centers were included in this retrospective study. First, TL signatures (TLSs) were constructed based on different source domains, including whole slide images (TLS-WSIs) and natural images (TLS-ImageNet).
This editorial provides a commentary on the recent article. The paper reviews current literature and explores innovative treatment strategies for lower extremity arteriosclerosis obliterans (LEASO) through an integrative approach. It highlights the effectiveness of combination therapies that merge traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with Western medical practices, suggesting that such integrative methods may improve patient compliance and outcomes through personalized care.

While percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is a prevalent treatment, complications such as microvascular dysfunction may lead to heart failure, necessitating additional therapies. This editorial examines the emerging roles of sacubitril/valsartan and sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors in managing post-PCI.

Integrin β3 (ITGB3) is a cell adhesion molecule that plays a role in cell movement. The objective of this study was to identify the biological function and expression level of ITGB3 in PE.

However, it remains unclear whether the AA levels in offspring of GDM mothers are affected by GDM. This study aimed to investigate the changes in AA metabolism in offspring of pregnant women with GDM undergoing different glycemic control treatment regimens.

Here, we showed that the synergistic role of ELF3 overexpression and PTEN deficiency in driving lung cancer development was highly dependent on the regulation of ferroptosis. Human ELF3 (hELF3) overexpression in murine lung epithelial cells only caused hyperplasia with increased proliferation and ferroptosis.

The report presents a case of atrial septal defect (ASD) associated with electrocardiographic changes, noting that the crochetage sign resolved after Selective His Bundle Pacing (S-HBP) without requiring surgical closure. The mechanisms behind the appearance and resolution of the crochetage sign remain unclear.

Despite the widespread interest in driving behavior modeling, existing models often focus on specific behaviors and cannot describe all types of vehicle movements, while vehicle status and driving scenarios are dynamic and infinite. That means comprehending and modeling generalized driving behavior mechanisms is essential.

In this work, the symbiosis between bio-based calcium alginate (CaA) and delignified wood was fabricated to form delignified wood-CaA aerogel composites. The density of the delignified wood@CaA sample was dropped to only 89 kg/m from 120 kg/m of the control wood.

Purpose: To identify the independent risk variables that contribute to the emergence of microalbuminuria(MAU) in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM), to develop two different prediction models, and to show the order of importance of the factors in the better prediction model combined with a SHAP(Shapley Additive exPlanations) plot.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of data from 981 patients with T2DM from March 2021 to March 2023. This dataset included socio-demographic characteristics, disease attributes, and clinical biochemical indicators.
Chicory ( L., 2n = 18), belonging to the Asteraceae family, exhibits significant edible, medicinal, and pasture values. Moderate research has been performed on identifying Chicory species' chromosomes using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and C-banding.

Cefazolin has been proven more effective than vancomycin in preventing prosthetic joint infection (PJI) after TKA. This study aimed to compare costs between different drug combinations for prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and PJI following TKA, focusing on costs associated with PJI management.

In the field of traditional Chinese medicine, Atractylodis Rhizoma (AR) is commonly used for various diseases due to its excellent ability to dry dampness and strengthen the spleen, especially popular in East Asia. The aim of this study is to proposed Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) in combination with chemometric methods for the rapid qualitative and quantitative detection of AR adulteration with other types of powder. Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA) was used to construct the classification models the best, with the First-order Derivative (F-D) preprocessing method.

NLRX1 is recognized for its regulatory role in governing mitochondrial damage, autophagy, and the expression of pro-inflammatory factors. Despite the acknowledged involvement of NLRX1 in these crucial cellular processes, its specific function in renal I/R injury remains unclear.

Here, we aimed to investigate the pathogenesis of MD in RA patients (RA_MD) through an integrated multi-omics approach.
Methods: Fecal and blood samples were collected from a total of 181 subjects in this study for multi-omics analyses, including 16S rRNA and internally transcribed spacer (ITS) gene sequencing, metabolomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and phosphoproteomics.
Thermoplastic composites are gaining widespread application in aerospace and other industries due to their superior durability, excellent damage resistance, and recyclability compared to thermosetting materials. This study aims to enhance the lap shear strength (LSS) of resistance-welded GF/PP (glass fiber-reinforced polypropylene) thermoplastic composites by modifying stainless steel mesh (SSM) heating elements using a silane coupling agent. The influence of oxidation temperature, solvent properties, and solution pH on the LSS of the welded joints was systematically evaluated.
