Cyclin-dependent kinase 4 and 6 inhibitors (CDK4/6 inhibitors) can significantly extend tumor response in patients with metastatic luminal A breast cancer, yet intrinsic and acquired resistance remains a prevalent issue. Understanding the molecular features of CDK4/6 inhibitor sensitivity and the potential efficacy of their combination with novel targeted cell death inducers may lead to improved patient outcomes. Herein, we demonstrate that ferroptosis, a form of regulated cell death driven by iron-dependent phospholipid peroxidation, partly underpins the efficacy of CDK4/6 inhibitors.

Fangchinoline derivative LYY-35 reduced the number of A549 cells, deformed cell morphology and increased cell debris. Cell viability was significantly reduced, while the same concentration of LYY-35 had little effect on BEAS-2B viability of normal lung epithelial cells.

In this paper, a new type of environmental protection concrete for railway accessory facilities was prepared from silicon-manganese slag, steel slag, fly ash and recycled macadam. Seven kinds of concrete with different mix proportions were designed.

This study hypothesized that suppressive immune checkpoints on T cells might upregulate after PDT, which may reduce the antitumor effect of PDT for treating breast tumor. This study explored the alteration of immune checkpoint for the first time.

The evolution laws of mechanical and frost resistance properties of the mixture were investigated by unconfined compressive strength (UCS), indirect tensile strength (ITS), freeze-thaw (FT), and ultrasonic detection tests. Then, the strength formation mechanisms were revealed by microscopic characterization technology.

Immunogenic cell death (ICD), a type of regulated cell death (RCD), which enable to reshape the tumor immune microenvironment and contribute to the immunotherapy efficiency. Developing a novel ICD-based signature may be a potential strategy to differentiate prognosis of patients with LUAD and predict efficacy of immunotherapy.

Background: Aggressive giant cell tumor of the distal fibula is so rare that no consensus on a surgical strategy has been reached. Thus, an appropriate treatment strategy is still important to discuss.
Case Summary: A 61-year-old man who had been experiencing progressive swelling of the left lateral malleolus accompanied by pain for half a year was presented at our hospital.
Infection-induced preterm birth (PTB) is contributing to the main factors of increased maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. Infections and inflammation are often accompanied by histologic chorioamnionitis. Recently, several studies have uncovered that miR-21 and NF-κB are associated with pathological processes of pregnant women.

Hydropower offers significant value for global carbon peak and carbon neutrality. However, the construction of hydropower stations leads to significant changes in land use and cover structure in reservoir areas, which affect ecosystem services including carbon balance. Furthermore, the development and operation of hydropower project require vast investment.

Numerous studies showed that microRNAs (miRNAs) played important roles in the occurrence and development of preeclampsia. However, the regulation of microRNA-142-3p (miR-142-3p) in preeclampsia has not been clarified.

The cancer is characterized by aggressive development and dismal prognosis, and due to limited prospective study, there is currently no established standard treatment. In this study, the case of a 77-year old female patient with BPDCN, who presented with a cutaneous lesion on the right of her face, is described.

This study is aimed to investigate the temperature distribution in tumor tissue and surrounding health tissue of tumor bearing mice applying mathematical simulation model. Tumor bearing mice treated by laser combined with or without indocyanine green.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPhotothermal therapy, a type of laser application, has the ability to eradicate tumor cells by a local thermal effect and elicit a tumor specific immune response. Indocyanine green (ICG), a photosensitizer, can effectively elevate the local temperature by absorbing energy from the laser. The present study aimed to investigate the characteristics of temperature changes during photothermal therapy with an infrared thermometer in an ICG solution and in tumor-bearing mice treated with a combination of laser and ICG.

Endomorphin-1 (EM-1) was reported to have very high affinity and selectivity for μ-opioid receptor (MOR). However, it remained unclear whether EM-1 and MOR were involved in the pathologies of endometriosis resulting in reduced fertility. In this study, RT-PCR, radioimmunoassay, immunohistochemistry, and Western blot were used, respectively.

The textural and structural properties of the synthesized catalysts were characterized by N2 adsorption/desorption, SEM and XRD, and the effect of active ingredients, flow rate and reaction temperature on catalytic degradation of naphthalene (NaP) were investigated in fixed-bed reactor. The experimental results show that the prepared 18% CeO2/Al2O3 has a low catalytic activity of NaP.
