Oysters are widely distributed worldwide, but are mainly concentrated in tropics and subtropics. Total lipid (TL), fatty acid (FA) composition of TL and polar lipid (PoL) fractions, phospholipid (PL) class, and molecular species composition in soft tissues of Crassostrea lugubris were investigated for the first time from Vietnam. Phosphatidylglycolic acid (PGA) is the new phospholipid class first identified in marine species in general and Crassostrea lugubris in particular.

Formation of a CdO layer on CdS/ZnO nanorod arrays to enhance their photoelectrochemical performance.

The performance and photocatalytic activity of the well-known CdS/ZnO nanorod array system were improved significantly by the layer-by-layer heterojunction structure fabrication of a transparent conductive oxide (TCO) CdO layer on the CdS/ZnO nanorods. Copper nanoparticles incorporated with conducting polymer: effects of copper concentration and surfactants on the stability and conductivity.

Copper nanoparticles are prepared in aqueous solution by reducing copper ions with hydrazine hydrate in the presence of cetyl trimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and polyvinylpyrrolydone (PVP) as stabilizers. With only CTAB was used as stabilizer, copper nanoparticles are aggregated and partially oxidized to Cu(2)O. When both PVP and CTAB were used, dispersed copper nanoparticles with 56 nm diameter were obtained.
