The optimal dose of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) supplementation during controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) remains controversial, particularly in women of advanced reproductive age. To compare the efficacy and safety of 150 IU versus 100 IU daily hCG supplementation from stimulation day 6 in women aged ≥ 35 years undergoing fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI). In this retrospective cohort study, we analyzed data from 438 patients aged ≥ 35 years undergoing IVF at a single center.

Introduction: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to compare the efficacy of extended supplementation (≥6 weeks) with natural compounds or extracts in improving cognitive function in patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted across Cochrane, PubMed, PsycARTICLES, Scopus, and Web of Science databases from inception to April 10, 2024. Eligible studies were randomized controlled trials evaluating cognitive outcomes in patients with MCI or AD using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and the Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Scale-Cognitive Subscale (ADAS-Cog).

The utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy has witnessed significant progress and promising results in recent years worldwide. From 2019 to 2023, the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy has released multiple guidelines/consensus with recommendations on integrating AI for detecting and classifying lesions in practical endoscopy. In Vietnam, since 2019, several preliminary studies have been conducted to develop AI algorithms for GI endoscopy, focusing on lesion detection.

This paper aims to evaluate the performance of logistic distribution centers (LDCs) by Quality Function Deployment (QFD) based on the Best-Worst Method (BWM). The originalities of this paper include: (1) exploring five constructs with 20 customer requirement attributes (CRAs) for LDCs' operations based on the SERQUAL model, (2) using the QFD model to identify five primary divisions and 18 corresponding service technical requirements (STRs) for LDCs' operations, (3) recognizing the top five STRs should be prioritized for the allocation of limited resources from House of Quality (HoQ), including cargo order (7.15%), value-added activities (6.

Purpose: To investigate the variability in urinary stone composition analysis due to sampling and suggest potential solutions.

Materials And Methods: We collected 1,135 stone fragments from 149 instances that had undergone a stone removal at Hanoi Medical University Hospital from January 2022 to August 2022. Each fragment was ground into fine powder and divided into separate specimens if the amount was abundant.

Ferry transport has witnessed numerous fatal accidents due to unsafe navigation; thus, it is of paramount importance to mitigate risks and enhance safety measures in ferry navigation. This paper aims to evaluate the navigational risk of ferry transport by a continuous risk management matrix (CRMM) based on the fuzzy Best-Worst Method (BMW). Its originalities include developing CRMM to figure out the risk level of risk factors (RFs) for ferry transport and adopting fuzzy BWM to estimate the probability and severity weights vector of RFs.

Purpose: Chyluria is a rare condition primarily prevalent in developing countries in tropical regions. In chyluria, there exists the communication between lymphatic vessels and the urinary tract, but the specific mechanism of this communication remains undocumented. The objective of this study was to assess the morphology of the main lymphatic vessels including the uro-lymphatic fistula, the thoracic duct using Magnetic Resonance Lymphangiography (MRL) and Intranodal Lymphangiography (IL).

Background And Aim: We aimed to evaluate the application of Peptest, a novel technique to detect pepsin in the saliva, and identify its threshold level for the diagnosis of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) with extraesophageal symptoms.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in two groups: patients with extraesophageal GERD symptoms (symptomatic group divided into GERD and non-GERD groups according to 24-h esophageal pH-impedance monitoring [pH-I] results) and healthy controls. For the symptomatic group, endoscopy, pH 24 h, high-resolution manometry (HRM), and salivary Peptest were performed.

Article Synopsis
  • * Data from annual health checks of 57,997 employees in 300 companies were analyzed, revealing MtS prevalence rates between 8.4% and 16%, with higher rates observed in older age groups, especially among women.
  • * High blood triglycerides and abdominal obesity were identified as major contributors to MtS, indicating a need for targeted prevention and control programs to address these issues in the workforce.

Pareto Front Learning (PFL) was recently introduced as an efficient method for approximating the entire Pareto front, the set of all optimal solutions to a Multi-Objective Optimization (MOO) problem. In the previous work, the mapping between a preference vector and a Pareto optimal solution is still ambiguous, rendering its results. This study demonstrates the convergence and completion aspects of solving MOO with pseudoconvex scalarization functions and combines them into Hypernetwork in order to offer a comprehensive framework for PFL, called Controllable Pareto Front Learning.

Background: Vietnam and Saudi Arabia have high disease burden of primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Early detection in asymptomatic patients at risk for HCC is a strategy to improve survival outcomes in HCC management. GALAD score, a serum-based panel, has demonstrated promising clinical utility in HCC management.

The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) shock classification has been shown to predict mortality in acute myocardial infarction (AMI). However, data on the transition of SCAI stages and their association with mortality after AMI are limited. All patients with AMI admitted to Vietnam National Heart Institute between August 2022 and February 2023 were classified into SCAI stages A, B, and C/D/E at admission and were reevaluated in 24 hours.

Introduction: Premature ejaculation (PE) is a prevalent sexual dysfunction in men that greatly affects their quality of life. In PE, the duration of sexual performance is considered an important aspect. However, a self-estimated value of intravaginal ejaculation latency time (perceived IELT, PIELT) as a criterion for diagnosis has not been specified.

Background: Thoracic duct (TD) stenting is considered a treatment option for certain pathological conditions caused by TD obstruction, such as chyluria. Several studies have reported on the efficacy of TD stent treatment for both obstructive and leakage condition of TD, but few have evaluated the stent patency. This report aims to describe the patency of TD stent and the effectiveness of renal-lymphatic fistula embolization in the treatment of chyluria.

Purpose: Hypogonadism is associated with a wide range of physical and psychological symptoms that can affect the overall health of men. However, in a developing country, there are several imposing challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of hypogonadism, including a lack of awareness and understanding of the condition among healthcare providers and patients, limited resources and the high cost of treatment. This review aimed to examine the potential benefits and risks of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and provides a perspective of a developing country on the topic.

Casein kinase 1 plays a crucial role in carcinogenesis. 4-Hydroxytamoxifen (4-OHT), which is widely used to treat breast cancer, often leads to the development of endometrial carcinoma with poor prognosis, particularly among women who receiving long-term treatment. This study was performed to elucidate whether specific inhibition of casein kinase 1 (CK1) controls 4-OHT-mediated Ishikawa cell carcinogenesis.

Background: Patients with prolonged hospitalisation have a significant risk of carriage of and subsequent infection with extended spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL)-producing and carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae. However, the distinctive roles of the community and hospital environments in the transmission of ESBL-producing or carbapenemase-producing K pneumoniae remain elusive. We aimed to investigate the prevalence and transmission of K pneumoniae within and between the two tertiary hospitals in Hanoi, Viet Nam, using whole-genome sequencing.
