In this study, we report the synthesis, optical characterization and ultra-sensitive ammonia gas sensing properties of Mg-doped ZnO cauliflower like nanostructures obtained via chemical spray pyrolysis technique. The morphological and structural properties of the prepared films were investigated by Field Emission Scanning electron microscope (FESEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Gas sensing and optical characterizations were carried out using Keithley electrometer and Uv-Vis.

Article Synopsis
  • The text discusses a new method for activating distal C-H bonds to create benzofulvenes, which are compounds formed through a [3 + 2] reaction involving palladium catalysis, overcoming traditional bond activation challenges.
  • This innovative approach involves concurrent activation of both β-C(benzylic)-H and δ-C(aryl)-H bonds and leads to the formation of novel chemical entities with promising anticancer properties.
  • In studies, these new compounds were found to effectively target oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) by arresting the cell cycle at the S-phase and activating various apoptosis pathways, indicating their potential as effective chemotherapy options.

Objectives: Breast cancer is among the most heterogeneous and aggressive diseases and a foremost cause of death in women globally. Hypoxic activation of HIF-1α in breast cancers triggers the transcription of a battery of genes encoding proteins that facilitate tumor growth and metastasis and is correlated with a poor prognosis. Based on the reported cytotoxic and anti-cancer properties of (), this study explores the inhibitory effect of bioactive compounds from and breast cancer target proteins HIF-1α, VEGF, and GLUT-1 .

Background: Root canal therapy (RCT) and pulpotomy are two common treatment modalities for managing dental pulp infections, but their comparative effectiveness in terms of patient outcomes remains unclear. This root canal therapy (RCT) aimed to assess and compare patient outcomes between teeth treated with traditional RCT and pulpotomy.

Materials And Methods: In this single-center RCT, a total of 120 patients presenting with symptomatic dental pulp infections were randomly assigned to either the RCT group or the pulpotomy group.

Neurodegenerative disorders are distinguished by the progressive loss of anatomically or physiologically relevant neural systems. Atypical mitochondrial morphology and metabolic malfunction are found in many neurodegenerative disorders. Alteration in mitochondrial function can occur as a result of aberrant mitochondrial DNA, altered nuclear enzymes that interact with mitochondria actively or passively, or due to unexplained reasons.

Hyperostosis triangularis ilii, also called osteitis condensans ilii (OCI), is a rare condition, mostly occurring in females, and the etiology is unknown. This disease is a sclerotic disorder associated with iliac fibrosis, a noninflammatory and self-limiting disorder. This condition primarily affects the iliac part of the sacroiliac joints and sometimes the adjoining bones, such as the sacrum, lumbar vertebrae, and iliac bones.

Incessant increases in vehicles and massive road networks lead to traffic-related problems and noise pollution. Road tunnels are considered a more feasible and effective solution for solving traffic problems. Compared to other traffic noise abatement strategies, road tunnels also offer enormous benefits to urban mass transit systems.

Pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) is an idiopathic villous overgrowth and pigmentation of the synovial membrane of a single joint. It is an uncommon condition characterized by yellow or yellowish-brown colour due to deposits of cholesterol and hemosiderin, excessive secretion of yellowish-brown synovial fluid, and the formation of brownish chocolate synovial tissue. This condition commonly occurs at the knee joint at the age of 20-50 years.

Stibnite SbS and tetrahedrite CuSbS nanostructures being economical, environmentally benign and having a high absorption coefficient are highly promising materials for energy conversion applications. However, producing these materials especially tetrahedrite in the phase pure form is a challenging task. In this report we present a structurally characterized single source molecular precursor [Sb(4,6-MepymS)] for the facile synthesis of binary SbS as well as ternary CuSbS in oleylamine (OAm) at a relatively lower temperature.

Background: The prevalence of end-stage renal disease of unknown etiology in adult patients is globally high and accounts for almost 20% of all dialysis patients. Recent studies have suggested that the percentage of adult patients with a causal genetic variant has been underestimated so far. Despite severe prognostic and therapeutic implications, awareness about prevalence and manifestations of genetic kidney diseases in adult renal patients is still limited.

The world has been coping up with the grave pandemic of COVID-19 since its inception into the human race in December, 2019. By entering the host through the spike (S) glycoprotein, it paves way for its own survival and multiplication. Respiratory tract being the point of entry causes pulmonary compromise and leads to development of ARDS.

Urban rivers are major victims of pollution and the river Yamuna is a notable example. Effective human intervention requires an understanding of the water quality response of rivers to urbanization. To this end, the time-series data from the Central Water Commission (CWC) and the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) was analyzed.

In Kerala and other South Indian States, the ayurvedic by-products are widely available which can adequately be incorporated into pig diets. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of dietary incorporation of cooked barley residue and spent grapes on feed intake, growth performance, and nutrient utilization in sows and their piglets. Using completely randomized design (CRD), fifteen (15) Large White Yorkshire (LWY) pregnant sows with an average body weight of 180.

Strategic noise maps are typically prepared for large-scale areas, towns and cities. However, some comparatively smaller industries are given less importance during preparation of noise maps. Very few studies have been reported worldwide providing insight on industrial noise mapping, and similar reports from India are negligible.

Molecular mechanisms by which long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) molecules may influence cancerous condition are poorly understood. The aberrant expression of lncRNA, encoded within the drosophila gene homolog intron, is correlated with a variety of cancers, including human melanomas. We demonstrate by SHAPE-seq and dChIRP that RNA secondary structure has a core pseudoknotted domain.

Huntington's disease is a rare neurodegenerative disorder whose complex pathophysiology exhibits system-wide changes in the body, with striking and debilitating clinical features targeting the central nervous system. Among the various molecular functions affected in this disease, mitochondrial dysfunction and transcriptional dysregulation are some of the most studied aspects of this disease. However, there is evidence of the involvement of a mutant Huntingtin protein in the processes of DNA damage, chromosome condensation and DNA repair.

The bacteria and their phages are the most abundant constituents of the aquatic environment, and so represent an ideal model for studying carbon regulation in an aquatic system. The microbe-mediated interconversion of bioavailable organic carbon (OC) into dissolved organic carbon (DOC) by the microbial carbon pump (MCP) has been suggested to have the potential to revolutionize our view of carbon sequestration. It is estimated that DOC is the largest pool of organic matter in the ocean and, though a major component of the global carbon cycle, its source is not yet well understood.
