Background: Understanding the relationship between self-efficacy and academic and clinical education outcomes may improve professional physical therapist education.

Objectives: To document the longitudinal responsiveness of Self-Efficacy of Physical Therapist Student Outcomes (SEPTSO) scores from a single cohort throughout a three-year professional physical therapist curriculum and also to explore relationships between SEPTSO, grade point average (GPA), clinical education outcomes, and first-time pass rate on the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE).

Methods: Thirty-five Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students participated.

As costs of higher education continue to rise, textbook pur¬chase is an area in which students have control over spending. The purposes of this project were to: 1) describe textbook use among current students and recent graduates in one physical therapist program, and 2) determine how this information might be utilized in addressing faculty textbook decisions in entry-level education. Electronic surveys were sent to 83 students and 229 graduates of a Doctor of Physical Therapy program in Texas.

This study described the results of online interprofessional education (IPE) between physical therapy and health information management students. Using the published (SPICE-R2) survey, this study measured changes in perception about IPE before and after three online interactions. Survey results included an overall score and three factors: Interprofessional Teamwork and Team-Based Practice (T), Roles/Responsibilities for Collaborative Practice (R), and Patient Outcomes from Collaborative Practice (O).

Background: Shoulder injuries in baseball related to throwing account for 60% of all baseball injuries and 75% of those throwing injuries occur in pitchers. Impingement is the beginning of a continuum of rotator cuff pathology that can result in pain and disability in pitchers. Identification of self-reported measures and clinical tests that can indicate early pathology of shoulder impingement is needed for overhead athletes.

Purpose: An important component in educating health professionals is developing professional behaviors, which includes appropriate modeling by faculty. The purposes of this study were to: 1) determine examples of behaviors that faculty identify as important in measuring professional behaviors in themselves and colleagues, and 2) develop a tool that could be used in self- and peer-assessment for faculty.

Methods: Part I of this two-part study was a survey to determine which behaviors are considered valuable in seven categories of professional behaviors.

Sex and gender differences in rehabilitation are important because more than half of patients seen by allied health professionals are female. Sex- and gender-specific curricula should be audited to enhance interprofessional education in women's health. The research question was: What is the extent of information about sex and gender differences that is included in selected allied health professions curricula? Student scholars from allied health programs audited courses in real time for references to sex and gender differences.

Many studies have reported the benefits of a comprehensive stroke team including occupational therapy/physical therapy (OT/PT) services; however, factors associated with access to these services are less known. This study used a subsample of the Health and Retirement Study database, a cross-sectional survey of more than 11,126 Americans aged 65 to 106 years within the contiguous United States. The purposes of this study were to determine the associational factors that contribute to attending OT/PT and determine if attending OT/PT leads to a reduced report of stroke-related problems.
