The rincipal vestigator evelopment and esources (PINDAR) program was developed at the NYU-H+H Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) hub in response to a perceived need for focused good clinical practice (GCP) training designed specifically for principal investigators (PIs) performing human subject research. PINDAR is a novel 6-hour, instructor lead, participatory, in-person course for PIs developed , piloted, and implemented. One hundred and seventeen faculty PIs participated in PINDAR from November 2016 through September 2018.

Background: Study coordinators play an essential role on study teams; however, there remains a paucity of research on the supports and services they need to effectively recruit and retain study participants.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 147 study coordinators from a large academic medical center. Survey items assessed barriers and facilitators to recruitment and retention, anxiety about reaching enrollment numbers, confidence for talking to potential study participants about research involvement, awareness and use of CTSA resources, and PI involvement with recruitment planning.

Background And Purpose: Perfusion measurement in multiple sclerosis (MS) may cast light on the disease pathogenesis and lesion development since vascular pathology is frequently demonstrated in the disease. Background And Purpose: Magnetization transfer ratio (MTR) histogram analysis and volumetric MR imaging are sensitive tools with which to quantify the tissue destructive effects in patients with white matter or neurodegenerative disease. Our purpose was to determine whether whole brain MTR and fractional brain parenchyma volume measurements are altered in HIV-1-infected patients who are neurologically symptomatic and in those who are asymptomatic.

Background And Purpose: This study was designed to determine whether neuropsychological function in HIV-infected persons is correlated with loss of brain volume (as measured by percentage of brain parenchymal volume [PBV]).
