A general method to convert simple exocyclic alkenes into saturated F-rings has been developed. The reaction involves reagent CFI(OAc). The reaction efficiently works on the mg-, g-, and even multigram scale.

4-Trifluoromethoxy proline: synthesis of stereoisomers and lipophilicity study.

All four stereoisomers of 4-CFO-proline have been synthesized through a fluorodesulfurization approach using the corresponding 4-hydroxyprolines as starting materials. The investigation of their lipophilicity characteristics and comparison with those of other 4-substituted proline analogs demonstrated a similar impact of CF and CFO groups on log .

Synthesis and physical chemical properties of 2-amino-4-(trifluoromethoxy)butanoic acid - a CFO-containing analogue of natural lipophilic amino acids.

2-Amino-2-(trifluoromethoxy)butanoic acid (O-trifluoromethyl homoserine) was synthesized as a racemate and in both enantiomeric forms. The measured pK and log D values establish the compound as a promising analogue of natural aliphatic amino acids.

[FEDERAL CLINICAL PRACTICE GUIDELINES FOR THE DIAGNOSIS, PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF PNEUMOCONIOSIS].

The purpose of development of this clinical practice guidelines was to provide evidence-based protocols that help the practitioner and the patient make the right decision for the health assessment, treatment and prevention of pneumoconiosis. Pneumoconiosis is the interstitial lung disease of occupational origin caused by prolonged inhalation of inorganic dust, characterized by chronic diffuse aseptic inflammation in lung tissue with the development of pulmonary fibrosis. Currently, thereare no treatment that provide a cure pulmonary fibrosis and changes in the dynamics of decline in lung function.

The authors studied innovative approaches in postgraduate training of occupational therapy specialists. Findings are that combination of technologic and research approaches provides guaranteed prevailing and development of creativity.

[Possibile application of X-ray and high resolution CT in pneumoconiosis management].

The article covers results of clinical and roentgenologic data analysis. The data were obtained in the study that covered 447 pneumoconiosis patients, 75 of which were subjected to high resolution CT. If compared to chest X-ray, high resolution CT helps more precise forecast of further course in pneumoconiosis.

[Integral methodologic approach to occupational health maintenance for oil industry workers in North-West Siberia (exemplified by JSC "Novosibirsknephtegaz" model)].

The authors analyzed work conditions and health of workers in oil-extracting industry of Novosibirsk region. Findings are that work safety system based on workplace certification concerning work conditions and on occupational safety activities certification is the most important component in primary prevention of occupational hazardous effects on life and health of workers during the occupational activities.

The article covers analysis of work conditions and occupational diseases in diamond mining industry of Far North. Safe length of sevice under exposure to noise is set. The authors specified recommendations on primary and secondary prophylaxis of occupational diseases in workers.

[Improving the system of methods covering clinical and rentgenologic observation over workers exposed to dust aerosol].

The article deals with analysis of clinical and rentgenologic changes in various pneumoconiosis types over 1960 to 2007 in Novosibirsk region. Findings are that analogous plain film fails to diagnose pulmonary pneumoconiosis. Pneumoconioses associated with "minimal" dust invasions in 10-15% of cases are not revealed by plain films.

[Efficiency of aerosol therapy in rehabilitation programs for patients with occupational broncho-pulmonary diseases].

The authors demonstrated efficiency of aerosol therapy using "Dovolenskaya" mineral water in treating patients with occupational pulmonary diseases. Results are improved bronchial drainage, normal pro- and antioxidant status, lower inflammatory activity in patients with pneumoconiosis and occupational dust bronchitis.

We studied efficacy of using intensive physical conditioning as prophylaxis of respiratory diseases in young children and health status of children exposed to physical conditioning in childhood (a total of 44 children aged from 1.5 months to 1 year; 58 children aged from 2.5 to 13.

[The optimal periods of temporary disability in myocardial infarct].

The effect of age, character of work, rehabilitation program and length of temporary invalidity on the results of medicosocial rehabilitation were studied in patients with a history of different forms of myocardial infarction. On the basis of this data optimal time of temporary loss of working capacity was established.

[Expert evaluation of the quality of ambulatory health care for rural population].

The paper outlines the issues related to expert evaluation of medical consultation quality provided at out-patient departments of central regional hospitals (CRH). The algorithm and programme of expertise were included into the special "Expert Assessment Schedule for Ambulatory Consultations" containing an assessment of eight major items. An expert assessment was carried out of 447 patients who made ambulatory visits to CRH, with a view of studying the reasons for failures, searching for the possibilities to overcome them and for the reserves of raising the quality of medical care for rural population.

[Problems of rehabilitating reconvalescents at industrial enterprises with a new economic mechanism].

The paper deals with the problem of rehabilitation of reconvalescents working at industrial enterprises. The most complicated and inadequately elaborated issues of this problem are those of rational employment and labour prognosis for reconvalescents. The so-called workshops of health established at industrial enterprises promoted the reduction in disease relapses, the decrease of disability and improvement of workers' health, however, with the transition to new economic methods of management many enterprises ceased to function.
