We aimed to determine the impact of IL-17A polymorphism in the -197 G/A promoter region on level of IL-17 and intensity of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease symptoms. This case-control study was conducted at the Department of Clinical Rheumatology of Aswan university Hospital and included 35 people suffering RA and 30 volunteer controls, matched for age and sex.
