[Markers of the course of inflammatory bowel disease treated with immunomodulators or biological agents].

Immunosuppressive or biological treatment in patients with inflammatory bowel disease can modify the natural history of their disease, although these treatments are not universally effective and can have severe adverse effects. Attempts have been made to identify predictive factors of response to the various therapeutic options in order to aid the choice of the most appropriate therapeutic alternative in each patient. The possibility of modifying any one of these predictive factors would be of great interest since it would provide the opportunity to alter the course of the disease.
