A new strain of bacteria, C31, was isolated from a wetland plant near Poyang Lake in China, characterized as Gram-stain-positive and aerobic with a yellowish, glossy appearance.
Phylogenetic analysis revealed that C31 has less than 97.0% similarity to known species in its genus, with low genomic identity and hybridization values, indicating it is a distinct species.
Optimal growth conditions for C31 are at 37°C, pH 7, and 0.5% NaCl, with specific fatty acids and polar lipids identified, leading to its classification as a novel species named sp. nov. with strain designation C31.
