Water-energy-vegetation nexus explain global geographical variation in surface urban heat island intensity.

Surface urban heat island (SUHI) is a key climate risk associated with urbanization. Previous case studies have suggested that precipitation (water), radiation (energy), and vegetation have important effects on urban warming, but there is a lack of research that combines these factors to explain the global geographic variation in SUHI intensity (SUHII). Here, we utilize remotely sensed and gridded datasets to propose a new water-energy-vegetation nexus concept that explains the global geographic variation of SUHII across four climate zones and seven major regions.

Objectives: Ozone is widely applied to treat allergic skin diseases such as eczema, atopic dermatitis, and contact dermatitis. However, the specific mechanism remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the effects of ozonated oil on treating 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB)-induced allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) and the underling mechanisms.

Ozone therapy for skin diseases: Cellular and molecular mechanisms.

Ozone is a highly reactive oxidant molecule consisting of triatomic oxygen atoms. Ozone therapy can be achieved using ozonated hydrotherapy, ozonated oil, ozone autohemotherapy, and other innovative dosage forms of ozone products. Ozone is frequently used as a complementary therapy for various cutaneous diseases, including infectious skin diseases, wound healing, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, axillary osmidrosis, diabetic foot, and pressure ulcers.

Influence of urban spatial and socioeconomic parameters on PM at subdistrict level: A land use regression study in Shenzhen, China.

The intraurban distribution of PM concentration is influenced by various spatial, socioeconomic, and meteorological parameters. This study investigated the influence of 37 parameters on monthly average PM concentration at the subdistrict level with Pearson correlation analysis and land-use regression (LUR) using data from a subdistrict-level air pollution monitoring network in Shenzhen, China. Performance of LUR models is evaluated with leave-one-out-cross-validation (LOOCV) and holdout cross-validation (holdout CV).

Evaluation of in vivo reflectance confocal microscopy in the diagnosis of extramammary Paget's disease.

Extramammary Paget's disease (EMPD) is a rare cutaneous malignancy that most commonly affects the apocrine glands of older men and women. Because it is associated with other cancers, early diagnosis and evaluation are needed. This study is to evaluate the value of reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) in diagnosing EMPD.

Scrotal Dowling-Degos disease caused by a novel frameshift variant in gamma-secretase subunit presenile enhancer gene.

We reported a Chinese pedigree with scrotal Dowling-Degos disease and evaluated the phenotypic and genotypic characteristics. In affected cases, pigmented macules were identified on the scrotum. The rashes increased, and the colour deepened progressively.
