Article Synopsis
  • The study talks about a problem in AI research called the "reproducibility crisis," where experiments don't always give the same results when repeated.
  • Researchers suggest a new method called "federated testing," where one team develops an AI model, and different teams test it to see if it works the same way everywhere.
  • The results showed that just sharing code isn't enough for consistent results because different computers and setups can cause variations in how the AI performs.

Introduction: The most common form of endometrial cancer is Type 1 endometrioid adenocarcinoma. Depth of myometrial invasion is the most important prognostic factor correlating with overall patient survival. The objective was to investigate how accurate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is in predicting the depth of myometrial invasion in preoperative assessment, and the influence of leiomyoma and/or adenomyosis, or microcystic, elongated and fragmented (MELF) pattern of invasion on MRI diagnostic performance.

Introduction: Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a rare skin sarcoma with a slow growth rate and less chance of metastasizing but it is associated with higher morbidity due to its aggressive nature of local infiltration and its recurrence nature.

Importance: When dealing with DFSP in children we could achieve low morbidity with appropriate surgical planning and approach even though aggressive wide local excision was performed.

Case Report: 12-year boy presented with a lump in his left arm which was initially clinically and ultrasonically diagnosed as lipoma.

Electron donor-acceptor (DA) hybrids comprised of single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) are promising functional materials for light energy conversion. However, the DA hybrids built on SWCNTs have failed to reveal the much-sought long-lived charge separation (CS) due to the close proximity of the DA entities facilitating charge recombination. Here, we address this issue and report an elegant strategy to build multi-modular DA hybrids capable of producing long-lived CS states.

The visible world is founded on the proton, the only composite building block of matter that is stable in nature. Consequently, understanding the formation of matter relies on explaining the dynamics and the properties of the proton's bound state. A fundamental property of the proton involves the response of the system to an external electromagnetic field.

We report high-precision measurements of the deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) cross section at high values of the Bjorken variable x_{B}. DVCS is sensitive to the generalized parton distributions of the nucleon, which provide a three-dimensional description of its internal constituents. Using the exact analytic expression of the DVCS cross section for all possible polarization states of the initial and final electron and nucleon, and final state photon, we present the first experimental extraction of all four helicity-conserving Compton form factors (CFFs) of the nucleon as a function of x_{B}, while systematically including helicity flip amplitudes.

The body condition score (BCS) is a popular method used to assess the body condition of dogs. However, owner-misperception of canine body condition has shown to persist even after being guided by a BCS chart. We compared the BCS assessments performed by the owners of 95 large-sized, purebred dogs without and with the guidance of a 5-point BCS chart.

Chromophores that generate singlet oxygen (O) in water are essential to developing noninvasive disease treatments using photodynamic therapy (PDT). A facile approach for formation of stable colloidal nanoparticles of O photosensitizers, which exhibit aggregation enhanced O generation in water toward applications as PDT agents, is reported. Chromophore encryption within a fuchsonarene macrocyclic scaffold insulates the photosensitizer from aggregation induced deactivation pathways, enabling a higher chromophore density than typical O generating nanoparticles.

We present new precision measurements of the elastic electron-proton scattering cross section for momentum transfer (Q^{2}) up to 15.75  (GeV/c)^{2}. Combined with existing data, these provide an improved extraction of the proton magnetic form factor at high Q^{2} and double the range over which a longitudinal or transverse separation of the cross section can be performed.

A new type of push-pull charge transfer complex, , a spiro-locked N-heterocycle-fused zinc porphyrin, , is shown to undergo excited state charge separation, which is enhanced by axial F binding to the Zn center. In this push-pull design, the spiro-quinone group acts as a 'lock' promoting charge transfer interactions by constraining mutual coplanarity of the -phenol-substituted electron-rich Zn(ii) porphyrin and an electron deficient N-heterocycle, as revealed by electrochemical and computational studies. Spectroelectrochemical studies have been used to identify the spectra of charge separated states, and charge separation upon photoexcitation of has been unequivocally established by using transient absorption spectroscopic techniques covering wide spatial and temporal regions.

Introduction/objectives: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory dermatosis with significant physical and psychological impact leading to negative influence on the quality of life among patients with psoriasis. Other than the disease characteristics many external factors could operate in South Asian context. Lack of a reliable disease-specific instrument prevents objective estimation and monitoring of disability in patients with psoriasis and hence we aim to validate assess the psychometric properties of the Sinhala version of PDI.

Background: Genetically encoded calcium indicators (GECIs), especially the GCaMP-based green fluorescence GECIs have been widely used for detection of neuronal activity in rodents by measuring intracellular neuronal Ca changes. More recently, jRGECO1a, a red shifted GECI, has been reported to detect neuronal Ca activation. This opens the possibility of using dual-color GECIs for simultaneous interrogation of different cell populations.
