Purpose: To investigate the differences in gut microbial characteristics between two traditional Chinese syndromes of premature ovarian insufficiency (POI).

Methods: Forty women with POI were recruited from the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital between June and December 2020. Women with POI were divided into the kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome (SDBS) and and blood deficiency syndrome (QBDS) groups.

Parkinson's disease (PD), a common neurodegenerative disorder characterized by degeneration of the substantia nigra and a marked increase in Lewy bodies in the brain, primarily manifests as motor dysfunction. Glycogen synthase kinase-3 beta (GSK-3β) is known to play a critical role in various pathological processes of neurodegenerative diseases. However, the impact of GSK-3β inhibitors on PD progression and the underlying molecular mechanisms responsible for the effects have not been fully elucidated.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study aimed to create an early clinical diagnosis model for Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) using retinal vascular features, providing a non-invasive method for risk prediction.
  • - Researchers analyzed retinal characteristics in 78 women with spontaneous POI and 48 healthy women, finding significant differences in various retinal measurements between the two groups.
  • - The results indicated that specific retinal characteristics could effectively identify POI, with a strong predictive value demonstrated by a high area under the ROC curve (0.8582), supporting the use of retinal analysis for early diagnosis of POI.

Purpose: To investigate the relationship between vaginal microbial community structure and premature ovarian insufficiency (POI).

Methods: Twenty-eight women with POI and 12 healthy women were recruited at Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital between August and September 2020. Blood samples were collected for glucose tests and detection of sex hormone levels and vaginal secretions were collected for microbial group determination.
