Mercury is considered to be one of the most typical and toxic elements of heavy metals in the environment, threatening human health even at very low level. For this reason, we developed a new fluorescence-enhanced probe RTQ based on resazurin dye, which realizes the selective detection of Hg by using carbonothioate group as the recognition receptor. Probe RTQ can quantitatively assay Hg ranging from 0-0.

As a heavy metal contaminant, mercury ion (Hg) has caused great harm to environment and life. Mercury ions will migrate and transform in the environment and eventually accumulate in the human body, thus causing human poisoning. Therefore, it is of great significance to detect Hg in the environment and living bodies.

Hydrogen peroxide (HO), as one of reactive oxygen species (ROS) widely present in the human body, is involved in a variety of physiological activities. Many human diseases are associated with abnormal levels of HO in the body. Mitochondria are the main organelles producing HO in the human body, and monitoring the level of HO in mitochondria can help to deepen the understanding of the detailed functions of HO in physiological activities.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a common chronic hepatic condition whose impact on human health is increasingly significant. The imbalance of the gut microbiome, linked to insulin resistance, heightened intestinal permeability, and pro-inflammatory reactions, may be the linchpin in the development of NAFLD. In our research, the impact of ZDY2013 administration for 12 weeks on gut microbiota dysbiosis induced by a high-fat, high-fructose, high-cholesterol (FHHC) diet in male C57BL/6n mice was investigated.

Copper ion (Cu) is not only a transition metal ion but also a significant environmental pollutant. The imbalance of Cu content will threaten the safety of the environment and even life. The portable detection devices based on ratiometric fluorescent probes have garnered increasing attention and acclaim because of their reliable analysis parameters.

The concentration of aluminum ions (Al) is closely related to the ecological environment, food safety, and human health, with excessive accumulation of Al causing irreversible damage to both the ecological balance and human health. Therefore, a fluorescent probe ABHS, based on aminobenzoylhydrazide Schiff-base, was designed and synthesized in one step with a high yield. ABHS can form a 1:1 coordination complex with Al in a pure water system.

Cancer is "the sword of Damocles" that threatens human life and health. Therefore, the diagnosis and treatment of cancer have been receiving much attention. Many overexpressed receptors on the surface of cancer cells provide us with an effective way to specifically identify the cancer cells, and receptor targeting strategies are becoming one of the hot ideas to enhance the ability of fluorescent probes to target tumors.

Studies have shown that hypobromous acid (HOBr) produced during chlorination disinfection of tap water can react with some organic matter in water to form toxic brominated disinfection byproducts (Br-DBPs) and HOBr also plays an important role during the process of micro pollutants degradation. Hence, real-time monitoring of HOBr in water environment plays a significant role in controlling the generation of Br-DBPs and degradation of micro pollutants. Herein, a novel highly specific fluorescent probe (PBE-HOBr) for accurate detection of HOBr was constructed based on the HOBr-induced oxidation elimination of benzothiazoline moiety employing the photo-induced electron transfer (PET) mechanism.

In vitro simulated digestion and fecal fermentation were performed to investigate the influence of mixed grains on gut microbes. In addition, the key metabolic pathways and enzymes associated with short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) were explored. The mixed grains exhibited an observable regulatory effect on the composition and metabolism of intestinal microorganisms, especially in probiotics, such as Bifidobacterium spp.

Hyaluronic acid (HA), a polymer mainly found in animal tissues, plays an important role in food research. In this study, it was used for delivery improvement of naringenin (NAR) by loading it into zein nanoparticles using an anti-solvent precipitation method. The optimal Nar/zein-HA nanoparticles were uniformly spherical with particle sizes of 209.

Buckwheat has beneficial effects on human intestinal health, which is often compounded with wheat to make food. Therefore, the effect of cereals mixture via fermentation on gut microbes and short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) were investigated in this study. The mixture of wheat and tartary buckwheat (WT) produced more lactate and acetate, and the mixture of wheat and sweet buckwheat (WE) produced more propionate and butyrate.

Meloxicam (MLX) is considered to have significant analgesic properties. However, the analgesic effects of MLX are compromised by its poor water solubility and thus the low drug loading. The purpose of this study was to develop a high drug-loaded MLX injection by formulating it into nanocrystals (NCs) for the treatment of analgesia.

Inflammatory microenvironments (IMEs) are common pathological characteristics and drive the development of multiple chronic diseases. Thus, IME-targeted therapies exhibit potential for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. Nanoplatforms have significant advantages in improving the efficiency of anti-inflammatory treatments.
