Introduction: Research on the effects of training programs involving small-sided games (SSG) versus high-intensity interval training (HIIT) has been increasing in recent years. However, there is limited understanding of how an individual's initial physical fitness level might influence the extent of adaptations achieved through these programs. This study aimed to compare the impacts of SSG and HIIT on male soccer players, while also considering the players' athleticism, categorized into lower and higher total athleticism score (TSA).

Article Synopsis
  • Epoxy resin is popular for its excellent properties, but its flammability limits its use in fire-sensitive applications. A new composite (DAP@SiO) was developed to enhance its flame retardancy by incorporating diammonium hydrogen phosphate and silica.
  • The DAP@SiO helps improve the thermal stability and fire resistance of epoxy resin by releasing non-flammable gases during decomposition and forming a protective silica layer that enhances the material's structural integrity.
  • With 12% DAP@SiO, the composite meets UL-94 V-0 flame retardancy and shows improved mechanical properties, reducing heat release and smoke during combustion, demonstrating effective flame retardant performance.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Depression is a prevalent stress disorder, yet the underlying physiological mechanisms linking stress to appetite and weight loss remain elusive. While most antidepressants are associated with excessive weight and appetite gain, sertraline (SER) exhibits a lower risk of these side effects. Metacinnabar (β-HgS), the primary component of Tibetan medicine Zuotai, has been shown to enhance mice's resilience against external stress without causing excessive increases in weight or appetite.

Small-sided games (SSGs) are frequently utilized in training settings to elicit specific stimuli that can promote physical fitness adaptations over time. However, various task constraints, such as pitch dimensions, can significantly influence both the acute external and internal load responses. Thus, understanding the impact of different pitch dimensions on physical fitness adaptations is crucial.
