Objective To investigate the expression of small nuclear ribonucleoprotein D1 (SNRPD1) in the gastric cancer tissue and evaluate the predictive value of SNRPD1 expression level for the long-term prognosis of gastric cancer patients and the possible functioning mechanism of SNRPD1. Methods The UALCAN and Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA) were employed to analyze the expression level of SNRPD1 in pan-cancer and its relationship with the prognosis of gastric cancer.The clinical data of 109 patients who underwent radical surgery for gastric cancer from January 2014 to January 2017 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical University were retrospectively analyzed.

Objectives: To investigate the therapeutic mechanism of nodakenin for Crohn's disease (CD)-like colitis in mice.

Methods: Using a colonic organoid model with lipopolysaccharide (LPS)- and ATP-induced pyroptosis, we investigated the effects of nodakenin on pyroptosis, intestinal barrier function and inflammatory response by detecting key pyroptosis-regulating factors and assessing changes in permeability and pro-inflammatory factors. In a mouse model of 2,4,6-trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid (TNBS)-induced CD-like colitis, the therapeutic effect of nodakenin was evaluated by measuring changes in body weight, DAI score, colonic histopathologies, inflammation score, intestinal barrier function and intestinal epithelial cell pyroptosis.

Purpose: This study aimed at comparing the prevalence of cognitive frailty and explore the differences in the influencing factors between elderly and middle-young patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis (MHD).

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, the frailty phenotype, mini-mental state examination, and clinical dementia rating were used to assess the current status of cognitive frailty in 852 patients receiving MHD from four hospitals in Lianyungang City and Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China; the influencing factors were then analyzed for statistical significance.

Results: Of the total 852 patients receiving MHD, 340 were classified into an elderly group (≥ 60 years) and 512 into a middle-young group (< 60 years).

Purpose: To investigate the effect of intradialytic resistance exercise on inflammation markers and sarcopenia indices in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients with sarcopenia.

Methods: Forty-one MHD patients with sarcopenia were divided into an intervention group (group E, n = 21) and a control group (group C, n = 20). Group C patients only received routine hemodialysis care, whereas group E patients received progressive intradialytic resistance exercise with high or moderate intensity for 12 weeks at three times per week (using the weight of the lower limbs and elastic ball movement of the upper limb) on the basis of routine hemodialysis care.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most frequent type of human lung cancer; lung cancer is responsible for the highest rates of cancer-associated mortality in the world. Cysteine-rich angiogenic inducer-61 (CYR-61) has been identified as a tumorigenesis-, development- and metastasis-related gene, and is reported to enhance proliferation, migration and invasion through hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)-induced scattering and the metastasis-inducing HGF/Met signaling pathway in tumor cells and xenograft models. CYR-61 is a protein that promotes human lung cancer cell metastasis and is closely related to the patient's prognosis in NSCLC.
