Objective: To determine the risk factors associated with peripheral intravenous therapy infiltration and extravasation (PIVIE) in paediatric surgery inpatients.

Methods: This retrospective observational study was conducted at a tertiary general hospital in Sichuan, China. Logistic regression was employed to identify independent risk factors predictive of PIVIE.

The patient, a 77-year-old Asian male presented with herpes zoster in the left lumbar and abdominal regions 9 weeks before presentation. The infection dried up after 2 weeks but was followed by an erythematous scaly rash in the same region with left-sided abdominal elevation. In this work, Au-modified F-TiO is developed as a simple and efficient photocatalyst for HO production under ultraviolet light. Cationic Gemini Surfactants with a Bipyridyl Spacer as Corrosion Inhibitors for Carbon Steel.

In this work, cationic Gemini surfactants with different alkyl chain lengths ( = 8, 10, and 12) and a bipyridyl spacer were synthesized and tested as corrosion inhibitors for carbon steel in 1 M HCl solution. The corrosion inhibition efficiency was determined by weight loss measurement, potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Results showed that such three inhibitors could effectively inhibit the corrosion of carbon steel in 1 M HCl solution, especially at their low concentrations, while the carbon chain length of Geminis used played a negligible role in the inhibition efficiency.

An oxidized, porous graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets (CNNs) was successfully obtained via a bottom-up approach. The inner filter effect (IFE) of Fe (III) tetrakis (1-methyl-4-pyridyl) porphyrin pentachlorideporphyrin pentachloride (FeTMPyP) on the CNNs results in fluorescence quenching of the CNNs due to the overlap of FeTMPyP absorbance band and CNNs emission band. It is interesting that the quenched fluorescence could be "turned on" in response to the participation of H O , which caused by decomposition of FeMPyP.
