Objective: to identify the knowledge and ability of caregivers on hand hygiene in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Method: a prospective cross-sectional study. A questionnaire was used to identify the knowledge and it was observed the hygiene technique performance.
Background: There are controversies regarding the best way to collect blood samples for cyclosporine A (CsA) serum levels when this immunosuppressant is administered continuously through a silicone central venous catheter (CVC) to hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients.
Objective: The aim of this study was to verify the effect of the time elapsed between the interruption of a continuous intravenous CsA infusion and the collection of blood samples on CsA serum levels.
Methods: This randomized 2-group clinical trial involved 32 adults.
Aims: to compare the performance of undergraduate students concerning semi-implanted central venous catheter dressing in a simulator, with the assistance of a tutor or of a self-learning tutorial.
Method: Randomized controlled trial. The sample consisted of 35 undergraduate nursing students, who were divided into two groups after attending an open dialogue presentation class and watching a video.

Aim: identify and analyze in the literature the evidence of randomized controlled trials on care related to the suctioning of endotracheal secretions in intubated, critically ill adult patients undergoing mechanical ventilation.
Method: the search was conducted in the PubMed, EMBASE, CENTRAL, CINAHL and LILACS databases. From the 631 citations found, 17 studies were selected.
This is an integrative literature review with the aim of summarizing the prevention measures and treatment of thrombotic obstruction of long-term semi-implanted central venous catheters, in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The sample consisted of seven studies, being two randomized controlled clinical trials, three cohort studies and two case series. Regarding the prevention measures, one single study demonstrated effectiveness, which was a cohort study on the oral use of warfarin.
