Injectable hydrogels for treating skin injuries in diabetic animal models: a systematic review.

Purpose: One of the main causes of chronic wounds is diabetes mellitus (DM), a metabolic disease characterized by chronic hyperglycemia. In this context, hydrogels have been used as a promising treatment for stimulating tissue ingrowth and healing in these injuries. This systematic review aimed to evaluate the findings of studies that investigated the effects of injectable hydrogels of various origins on skin wound healing using in vivo experimental models in diabetic rats.

Efficacy and safety of intense pulsed light in rosacea: A systematic review.

Background Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory disease of the skin characterised by facial erythema, oedema, telangiectasias, papules, pustules and nodules. There is a paucity of effective therapeutic modalities for the management of rosacea. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), a modality in which flash lamps installed in an optical treatment device (head or tip) with mirrors to reflect light, has in recent times gained popularity in the management of this condition.

Background: The growth of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a serious public health issue which is more prevalent in developing countries. The main problems related to DM are the gradual changes in the structural and functional integrity of tissues caused by hyperglycemia, which calls for early diagnosis and periodic monitoring exams. Recent studies suggest that the quality of the nail plate has great potential to assess the secondary complications of DM.

Radiofrequency and skin rejuvenation: a systematic review.

Increasingly, there is an attempt to minimize expression lines through esthetic procedures, and radiofrequency (RF) is one of the therapeutic modalities. This article aims to systematically review the literature on the different types of RF treatment in clinical trials and in variables related to the aging process. This systematic review included 21 articles that treated 354 people with different physical characteristics.

Effects of photobiomodulation and a physical exercise program on the expression of inflammatory and cartilage degradation biomarkers and functional capacity in women with knee osteoarthritis: a randomized blinded study.

Background: The knee osteoarthritis (OA) is a joint disease characterized by degradation of articular cartilage that leads to chronic inflammation. Exercise programs and photobiomodulation (PBM) are capable of modulating the inflammatory process of minimizing functional disability related to knee OA. However, their association on the concentration of biomarkers related to OA development has not been studied yet.

Intense Pulsed Light on skin rejuvenation: a systematic review.

Low-level laser therapy modulates demyelination in mice.

There are no effective therapies for remyelination. Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) has been found advantageous in neurogenesis promotion, cell death prevention, and modulation of inflammation in central and peripheral nervous system models. The purpose of this study was to analyse LLLT effects on cuprizone-induced demyelination.
