The purpose of this research was to assess the effect of chlorogenic acid (CGA) in the diet on ileac structure, barrier function, immunological state, and microbial profile of broiler chickens in a high stocking density (HD) environment. Four hundred and seventy-six male AA broiler chickens were randomly split into four groups, two with a normal stocking density (ND) of fourteen birds per m and two with a high stocking density of twenty-two birds per m. A facile and versatile method for generating radicals from Csp-H bonds under metal-free and organic-peroxide-free conditions was developed. By combining safe persulfate and low-toxic quaternary ammonium salt, a wide variety of Csp-H compounds including ethers, (hetero)aromatic/aliphatic ketones, alkylbenzenes, alkylheterocycles, cycloalkanes, and haloalkanes were selectively activated to generate the corresponding C-centered radicals, which could be further captured by -arylacrylamides to deliver the valuable functionalized oxindoles. Good functional group tolerance was demonstrated.

We previously reported that helicid, an active plant monomer of Helicid nilgirica Bedd, had good antidepressant pharmacological activities. However, the potential mechanism of action remains unknown. Current investigation showed the antidepressant-like effects of helicid and its effects on the neurocalcin delta (NCALD) gene, and its mechanism of action through a depression model in rats exposed to chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS).
