Article Synopsis
  • The study established methods using Evaporative Light Scattering Detector (ELSD) and Charged Aerosol Detector (CAD) for analyzing four types of sugars in a traditional Chinese medicine called Zhusheyong Yiqi Fumai (YQFM).
  • HPLC-ELSD and HPLC-CAD methods were conducted with specific column conditions and mobile phases, successfully identifying fructose, glucose, sucrose, and maltose in YQFM.
  • Both detection methods demonstrated good agreements in their measurements, with reliable recoveries and reproducibility; the study also highlighted the importance of a particular CAD parameter for accuracy in sugar determination.
