Skeletal muscle plays a significant role in both local and systemic energy metabolism. The current investigation aims to explore the role of the Bambi gene in skeletal muscle, focusing on its implications for muscle hypertrophy and systemic metabolism. We hypothesize that skeletal muscle-specific deletion of Bambi induces muscle hypertrophy, improves metabolic performance, and activates thermogenic adipocytes via the reprogramming of progenitor of iWAT, offering potential therapeutic strategies for metabolic syndromes.

The current single-cell analysis technologies such as fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) and fluorescence-activated droplet sorting (FADS) could decipher the cellular heterogeneity but were constrained by low sorting performance and cell viability. Here, an ultra-sensitive single-cell sorting platform has been developed by integrating the FADS technology with Tetramer-HCR-EvaGreen (THE) fluorescence signal amplification. Stable inheritance of DNA N-methyladenine (6mA) is crucial for its biological functions in eukaryotes. Here, we identify two distinct methyltransferase (MTase) complexes, both sharing the catalytic subunit AMT1, but featuring AMT6 and AMT7 as their unique components, respectively. While the two complexes are jointly responsible for 6mA maintenance methylation, they exhibit distinct enzymology, DNA/chromatin affinity, genomic distribution, and knockout phenotypes.

Nanoscale FeWO/BiVO heterojunctions were directly grown on the graphite fiber felt (GF) with good conductivity to construct a FeWO/BiVO @GF solar photo-Fenton like wastewater treatment system. The removal effect of COD from phenolic wastewater and the mechanism of synergistic improvement of wastewater treatment efficiency by this system were investigated. The FeWO/BiVO heterojunction prepared by hydrothermal method exhibited higher photoelectric conversion efficiency and solar light utilization rate, thus endowing FeWO/BiVO with excellent solar-Fenton like reaction activity.

To investigate the impact of stirrup pitting corrosion on the stress-strain model of core concrete under compression, this study, based on existing corroded steel specimens, establishes a probabilistic model of the residual cross-sectional area distribution of steel bars to reasonably evaluate the effect of pitting on the mechanical performance of stirrups. Considering the tension stiffening effect in reinforced concrete, a time-dependent damage model of corroded steel bars in concrete was determined, and the existing stress-strain model of concrete confined by stirrups was ultimately modified, establishing a time-dependent constitutive model that incorporates the effects of stirrup pitting corrosion. A comparison with previous experimental results indicates that the revised model presented in this paper can appropriately reflect the changes in the mechanical performance of concrete confined by corroded stirrups.
