Gelatin-based biomaterials have emerged as promising candidates for bioadhesives due to their biodegradability and biocompatibility. However, they often face limitations due to the uncontrollable phase transition of gelatin, which is dominated by hydrogen bonds between peptide chains. This study investigated the performance and phase-specific characteristics of mesophilic co-digestion of food waste (FW) with rice straw (RS) at different RS proportions (40 %, 60 %, and 80 %), as well as mono-digestion of RS. Background: Sense of coherence (SoC) is a core concept of 'salutogenesis' in positive psychology, correlated with emotional distress and disease development in adults with chronic disease and older adults. A diversity of non-pharmacological interventions (NPIs) has been developed to enhance SoC, but research findings are conflicting and the adequacy of sample sizes is uncertainty.

In order to explore the differences in subcutaneous fat metabolism and pathway information in yaks under different feeding conditions, this experiment used Illumina high-throughput sequencing technology to sequence the transcriptome of subcutaneous fat tissues of yaks under different feeding conditions and analyzed them bioinformatically. 9 naturally grazed yaks at 18 months of age were randomly divided into 3 groups, one group (G18_SF) was slaughtered, one group (G24_SF) continued to graze until 24 months of age was slaughtered, and one group (F24_SF) was housed until 24 months of age was slaughtered, and subcutaneous fat tissue was collected from the back of the yaks. A total of 15,261 expressed genes were identified in the nine samples, with 13,959 coexpressed genes and 533 differential expressed genes (DEGs), G18_SF vs F24_SF 133 DEGs, G18_SF vs G24_SF 469 DEGs, F24_SF vs G24_SF 5 DEGs.

This study investigated the effects of varying lipid ratios on the anaerobic co-digestion of high-lipid food waste (FW) in a mesophilic anaerobic membrane bioreactor (AnMBR). Prostate transmembrane androgen inducible protein 1 (PMEPA1) can promote or inhibit prostate cancer cell growth based on the cancer cell response to the androgen receptor (AR). Our previous studies have shown that lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor 1 (LOX-1) is expressed in liver sinusoidal endothelial cells, and oxidized low-density lipoprotein induces liver sinusoidal dysfunction and defenestration through the LOX-1/ROS/NF-kB pathway, revealing that LOX-1 can mediate liver sinusoidal barrier function, involved in the regulation of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Here, we investigated whether, in the context of bone metabolic diseases, LOX-1 could affect bone quality and type H blood vessels in diabetic mice. We used db/db mice as model and found that LOX-1 knockdown can ameliorate bone quality and type H blood vessel generation in db/db mice.
