Organics electrode materials offer multi-electron reactivity, flexible structures, and redox reversibility, but encounter poor conductivity and durability in electrolytes. To overcome above barriers, we propose a dual elongation strategy of π-conjugated motifs with active sites, involving extended carbazole and electropolymerized crosslinked polymer, which enhances electronic conductivity by the electronic delocalization of electron-withdrawing conjugated groups, boosts theoretical capacity by increasing redox-active site density, and endows robust electrochemical stability attributed to crosslinked organic structures. As a proof-of-concept, 5,11-dihydridoindolo[3,2-b]carbazole (DHIC) is selected as the model cathode material for a dual-ion battery, with elongated carbazole groups functioning both as redox-active centers and polymerization anchors.

Chaperone mediated autophagy (CMA) represents a specialized mechanism of lysosomal protein breakdown, playing a crucial role as a metabolic pathway that helps to regulate and sustain cellular and systemic physiological equilibrium. Dendritic and axonal plasticity, which mediates neurobiological recovery after a stroke, critically depends on the mitochondrial function of neurons. To investigate, in vivo, neuronal mitochondrial function at the stroke recovery stage, we employed Mito-tag mice combined with cerebral cortical infection of AAV9 produced from plasmids carrying Cre-recombinase controlled by two neuronal promoters, synapsin-I (SYN1) and calmodulin-kinase IIa to induce expression of a hemagglutinin (HA)-tagged enhanced green fluorescence protein (EGFP) that localizes to mitochondrial outer membranes of SYN1 positive (SYN) and CaMKIIa positive (CaMKIIa) neurons. This study cultivated a bacterial consortium (S60) from landfill leachate that exhibited effective heterotrophic nitrification and aerobic denitrification (HN-AD) properties. Under aerobic conditions, the removal of NH-N reached 100 % when the S60 consortium utilised NH-N either as the sole nitrogen source or in combination with NO-N and NO-N. To advance the industrialization of flexible strain sensors, an innovative flexible sensing fiber was developed through a sophisticated wet spinning process. Silver trifluoroacetate (C2AgF3O2) and graphene oxide (GO) were combined with thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) to prepare the fibers via wet spinning. Ascorbic acid (L-AA) was used to in situ reduce the silver trifluoroacetate and graphene oxide within the polyurethane, causing the growth of silver nanoparticles to bond with reduced graphene oxide, forming a dual conductive pathway.

Ribonucleoprotein (RNP)-based CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing holds great potential for the treatment of choroidal neovascularization (CNV), which however, is challenged by the lack of efficient cytosolic protein delivery tools. Herein, reversibly-phosphorylated pro-proteins (P-proteins) with conjugated adenosine triphosphate (ATP) tags are engineered and coupled with a membrane-penetrating, guanidine-enriched, α-helical polypeptide (GP) to mediate robust and universal cytosolic delivery. GP forms salt-stable nanocomplexes (NCs) with P-proteins via electrostatic interaction and salt bridging, and the helix-assisted, strong membrane activities of GP enabled efficient cellular internalization and endolysosomal escape of NCs.
